Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Steelers WR James Washington (groin) is not listed on the final injury report and will play vs. the Seahawks on Sunday night. We’re expecting Washington step in as Pittsburgh’s #3 WR with JuJu Smith-Schuster out -- although Washington still isn’t much of a fantasy option.

Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (quad) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. Washington. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, although HC Andy Reid said Hill was "bouncing around pretty good" in Friday’s workout. We’ll look for an update on Hill on Sunday morning and will get his game status around 11:30 am ET.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow (throat) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’s good to go for Sunday’s plus matchup vs. the Lions.

Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals after getting in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He was in the same boat last week and ended up playing 81% of the offensive snaps in the loss to Minnesota. Hockenson is fully expected to play this Sunday.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Lions after getting in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday. That’s not a great look, but HC Zac Taylor said Friday morning that Mixon “should get a full workload” this weekend. RB Samaje Perine remains on the COVID list as of Friday afternoon, leaving RBs Chris Evans and Trayveon Williams behind Mixon on the depth chart.

Titans WR A.J. Brown said in a Friday press conference that he expects to remain on a snap count in Monday night's game vs. the Bills. Brown played 64% of the offensive snaps in his return last week -- but was in a route on 89% of pass plays. As long as that latter number stays in that range, Brown is safe to keep in fantasy lineups.

Bears WR Allen Robinson (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Packers. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. A fantasy dud even before this injury, Robinson is better off on fantasy benches this week.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is out for this weekend's game vs. the Vikings. It looks like he suffered a setback this week after missing practice on Thursday and Friday, but we'll look for further updates on his status. RB Chuba Hubbard gets another start on Sunday. He tallied 13 carries and 2 targets in negative game script in Week 4 and 24 carries and 6 targets with more positive script last week.

Update: HC Matt Rhule claimed Friday that McCaffrey didn't suffer a setback and added that he's "hopeful" McCaffrey will be back for Week 7. We'll see.

Colts HC Frank Reich said Friday that he's "cautiously optimistic" WR T.Y. Hilton (neck) will be able to play vs. the Texans this weekend. It sounds like Hilton has been medically cleared and the team just wants to make sure he's back in game shape. We'll keep an eye on the situation, but Hilton shouldn't be in your Week 6 fantasy plans.

Colts K Rodrigo Blankenship (hip) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Texans. Michael Badgley will kick for Indianapolis in that one and is a fine Week 6 fantasy fill in. The Colts are sporting a big 27-point implied total.

The Dolphins have ruled CB Xavien Howard out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London. Howard missed practice this week, listed with shoulder and groin injuries. His absence leaves Miami without 1 of its top 2 corners. That can only help the matchup for Jacksonville WRs Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault.

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (shoulder, hamstring) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. WR Preston Williams (groin) is listed as questionable, while WR Will Fuller (finger) remains on IR. Jaylen Waddle, Mack Hollins, Albert Wilson and Isaiah Ford are Miami's healthy WRs right now.

Ravens WR Sammy Watkins (thigh) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Chargers. WR Rashod Bateman, meanwhile, is expected to make his NFL debut this weekend, HC John Harbaugh said Friday. OC Greg Roman suggested earlier in the week that Bateman would be on a snap count, so we'd try not to use the rookie in Week 6 fantasy lineups.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. He remained limited in practice this week as he battles that stress fracture in his shin, but Gibson is fully expected to play this weekend. He might even take on an expanded role with all of Washington's WR injuries.

Vikings WRs Justin Jefferson (ankle) and Adam Thielen (foot) aren't listed on the final injury report. Both guys got some time off in practice earlier this week but should be ready to play their usual roles vs. the Panthers on Sunday.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) isn't listed on the final injury report. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. That all points to Cook being ready to handle a full workload. It's possible that Minnesota mixes RB Alexander Mattison in a bit more than they were before, but Cook is back to easy RB1 status.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. He appears to be looking at another multi-week absence. WR Cam Sims (hamstring) has also been ruled out. WR Dyami Brown (knee) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. With WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) also questionable, Adam Humphries, Deandre Carter and Dax Milne are Washington's only healthy WRs. It's obviously a concern for QB Taylor Heinicke.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Chiefs. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. We don't have any other details at this point, but he seems to be in real danger of missing Sunday's game. We'll keep you updated and get McLaurin's game status around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Update: McLaurin worked off to the side of Friday's practice, per ESPN's John Keim, and HC Ron Rivera said afterward that they're operating more under "an abundance of caution" with McLaurin. It sounds like Washington is still expecting him to play on Sunday, but McLaurin will come with added risk in fantasy lineups.

Bengals HC Zac Taylor said Friday that RB Joe Mixon (ankle) "should get a full workload" against the Lions on Sunday. Mixon was obviously limited by that ankle last week but came out of that game without suffering a setback. He averaged 20.8 carries and 2.3 targets over the first 4 games of the season and should be in line for similar volume on Sunday.

12:30pm EDT 10/15/21

The Browns have ruled RB Nick Chubb out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals because of a calf injury. His absence obviously leaves room for Kareem Hunt to lead the backfield and hit the week as a RB1 across fantasy football formats. Demetric Felton will be involved as well, but he has been more receiver than RB so far, tallying 7 targets vs. 0 rushing attempts over the first 5 games. RB D'Ernest Johnson has logged 0 offensive snaps the past 2 weeks and in 3 of 5 games this year, but he'll likely be involved as well.
