Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Saints RB Alvin kamara left early in the fourth quarter with a groin injury Sunday. But he and Kendre Miller each carried five times before that. Miller added another four attempts after Kamara left to finish with 46 yards on 9 carries. He drew 1 target that fell incomplete. Kamara rushed five times for 12 yards before leaving and tallied a 4-58-1 receiving line.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Commanders due to a groin injury. We'll update his status when we know more. Kamara's absence leaves Kendre Miller as New Orleans' lead back.
Second year Saints RB Kendre Miller scored an early TD in the first quarter against the Giants. It was one of only two TDs by the Saints in what should have been an easy match-up. Miller had 10 backfield touches for 32 yards while fellow RB Jamaal Williams only had five for 15 yards.
Saints TE Taysom Hill suffered a torn ACL and "additional damage" to his left knee in the Week 13 loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That ends Hill's 2024 season and might challenge his availability for the start of the 2025 campaign. Hill will turn 35 in August. He's signed with the Saints through 2025.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara easily led the team in both carries and targets for the second straight game Sunday. He handled 17 of New Orleans' 19 RB carries (89.5%), though he gained just 55 yards (3.2 per rush). Kamara's 6 targets doubled his nearest teammate, and he also led the way with 5 receptions.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Falcons. Jordan Mims will be the No. 2 RB. But look for another busy outing for RB Alvin Kamara, with TE Taysom Hill mixing in for a handful of carries.
Saints RB Jamaal Williams (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Falcons. Interim HC Darren Rizzi said Friday that Williams aggravated his groin injury in practice this week and is unlikely to play. Jordan Mims will serve as No. 2 RB on paper again, but TE Taysom Hill is the second-best bet for carries behind workhorse Alvin Kamara.
RB Alvin Kamara accounted for 215 scrimmage yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. He handled 29 of the team's 41 rushing attempts, averaging 5.3 yards per carry en route to 155 on the ground. Kamara also led the Saints in targets (9), receptions (6), and receiving yards (60). He ceded the team's TDs to Taysom Hill (rushing) and Foster Moreau (receiving).
The Saints have placed RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) on IR. That’ll knock him out for games against the Panthers, Falcons, Browns, and Rams. New Orleans promoted RB Jordan Mims to the active roster in a corresponding move. With Jamaal Williams also out for Sunday, Alvin Kamara will remain busy. Taysom Hill might rank second on the team in carries and presents some fantasy value in leagues where he carries TE eligibility.
Saints QB Derek Carr (oblique) was limited in practice all week but is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. Despite that plus matchup, Carr is really only in play in 2-QB and superflex leagues. But his return is excellent news for RB Alvin Kamara and especially WR Chris Olave.
Saints HC Dennis Allen said Monday that QB Derek Carr (oblique) is expected to return to practice this week. Allen added that he's "optimistic" Carr will be able to play vs. the Panthers on Sunday. That'd be excellent news for everyone in this New Orleans offense. The Saints averaged just 15 points and 215 passing yards per game without Carr over the past three weeks.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 10 times for 67 yards in a blowout loss to the Chargers. He added 6 grabs on a massive 11 targets, giving him 13+ PPR points in all but one game in 2024.
The Saints and RB Alvin Kamara agreed on a two-year, $24.5 million extension, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Kamara was likely to hit free agency this offseason but is now signed with New Orleans through the 2026 campaign. There had been some talk of a Kamara trade recently, but this new deal puts that to bed.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara mustered just 24 scoreless yards in the Week 7 loss to the Broncos. Down their starting QB, top two WRs, and multiple starting offensive linemen, the Saints offense had no chance against a quality Broncos defense. New Orleans mustered just 271 total yards and 10 points. Kamara found no running room, averaging an ugly 1.4 yards on his seven carries. He at least caught six of seven targets to help his PPR tally -- but those grabs totaled only 14 yards.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (rib) is listed as doubtful for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. He got back on the practice field this week but hasn't been cleared for game action. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 8. Alvin Kamara will continue to dominate backfield work for the Saints with Hill out.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (hamstring) has been activated from IR, putting him on track to make his 2024 debut against the Bucs on Sunday. Ace beat writer Nick Underhill does not expect Miller to have a "significant role out of the gates." But, if he can stay healthy, Miller is plenty capable of emerging as New Orleans' No. 2 RB -- and the Alvin Kamara handcuff. Miller is worth stashing now in deeper fantasy leagues.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (rib) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bucs. His absence is a slight boost to RB Alvin Kamara’s carry projection, particularly at the goal line.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (hip, hand) is not listed on the final Week 6 injury report. He got in just two limited practices this week, but it looks like he’ll be ready for his usual workhorse role vs. the Bucs on Sunday.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (hip, hand) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We're tentatively expecting him to play his usual role vs. the Bucs this weekend, but we'll see how he's listed on Friday's final injury report.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (hip, hand) did not practice on Wednesday. He seemed to make it out of Monday night's game vs. the Chiefs ok, so this is likely more of a rest day. We'll see if Kamara gets back on the field tomorrow.
