Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) remains a game-time decision for today's tilt with the Falcons, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He did very little this week. But they'll hold out hope," Rapoport adds. We're not projecting Kamara to play but will get New Orleans' inactives around 11:30 am ET. RB Jamaal Williams will take over lead duties if Kamara is out.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. He didn’t practice all week, but HC Dennis Allen said Friday that they’ll wait until game day before making a final decision on Kamara’s status. His absence would leave Jamaal Williams as New Orleans’ lead back. RB Kendre Miller (ankle, illness) is also listed as questionable for Week 18.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. His injury doesn't seem overly serious, but Kamara is certainly in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Falcons. His absence would leave Jamaal Williams as New Orleans' lead back.
Saints HC Dennis Allen said Monday that RB Alvin Kamara is dealing with an ankle sprain. He wouldn't say whether he expects Kamara to be available for this weekend's game vs. the Falcons. "We’ll see how he responds throughout the week," Allen said. We'll keep tabs on Kamara's progress. His absence would leave Jamaal Williams as New Orleans' lead back against a tough Atlanta run dfense.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara struggled against the Buccaneers on Sunday, ending Week 17 with 49 scrimmage yards on 12 touches. He may not have delivered for many managers’ title games, but Kamara remained a workhorse. He averaged 19.6 touches per game through 13 contests after returning from a three-game suspension to open the year and posted his second-highest PPR points per game (17.9) since 2019. There is, however, a snag in projecting his future outlook for dynasty purposes. The Saints are projected to enter 2024 at $89 million over the salary cap. No single move will dig them out of that, but getting rid of Kamara (post-June 1 designation) could save them approximately $5 million. They already have third-round rookie Kendre Miller lined up as a long-term replacement, too. It’ll be vital to pay close attention to New Orleans’ moves throughout the course of the offseason. Value Kamara as an aging RB2 for now. Getting dumped by the Saints, however, would muddy his outlook.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara injured his right ankle in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bucs. He made his way into the locker room with trainers. We'll update Kamara's status when we know more. His absence leaves Jamaal Williams as New Orleans' lead back.
Update: Kamara has been ruled out.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Bucs. He missed Friday’s practice but should be ready for his usual role in this one.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (illness) is expected to play vs. the Bucs today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Kamara didn't practice on Friday and is listed as questionable, but he should be ready for his usual role in this one.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (illness) did not practice on Friday and is listed as questionable on the final Week 17 injury report. This is unlikely to keep him out of Sunday's game vs. the Bucs, but check back around 11:30 am ET that morning to make sure he's active.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (ankle) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Rams. He got in two limited practices this week, so we'll see if he can make it back for Week 17. New Orleans will continue to roll with RBs Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams tonight.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter both call Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Giants. But Rapoport adds that "there is not a lot of optimism that he can go." That's not a surprise after Olave missed practice all week. With WR Michael Thomas still on IR, Olave's absence would leave Rashid Shaheed as the best fantasy bet in New Orleans' WR corps. A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood, and Marquez Callaway would round out the group. Olave's absence could also mean bigger roles for TE Taysom Hill and RB Alvin Kamara in the passing game. We've removed Olave from the Week 15 Rankings and updated Saints projections.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Panthers. He leaves behind an average of 5.8 carries and 2.8 targets per game. RB Alvin Kamara gets the biggest projection boost with Hill out.
ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Saints TE Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) is not expected to play vs. the Panthers today. He's averaged 5.8 carries and 2.8 targets per game this season and is tied for the team lead with seven carries inside the five-yard line. Hill's absence today is particularly good news for RB Alvin Kamara's TD projection. TE Juwan Johnson (quad) is expected to play today, per Schefter, but remains a desperation fantasy option.
Asked whether Taysom Hill will play Sunday against the Panthers, Saints beat writer Nick Underhill said, "I'd be surprised but we'll see." Hill's officially questionable with foot and hand injuries, but you should plan as though he's not playing against Carolina. That can only help TE Juwan Johnson's playing time and the goal-line opportunities for New Orleans RBs. We'll confirm Hill's status Sunday morning.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Panthers. He didn’t practice all week, so he’s seemingly on the doubtful side of questionable. Hill has averaged 5.8 carries and 2.8 targets per game this season. And he’s tied for the team lead with seven carries inside the five-yard line. Hill’s absence would leave behind quite a bit of opportunity, with RB Alvin Kamara being the biggest winner.
Saints WR Rashid Shaheed (quad) is "likely" to miss Sunday's game against the Lions, according to insider Nick Underhill. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds that Shaheed avoided a major injury, so he can stay stashed on benches in deeper fantasy leagues. WR Chris Olave is also iffy for Week 13 with his concussion, which could leave A.T. Perry, Keith Kirkwood, and Lynn Bowden as New Orleans' top three WRs. We'd expect to see a lot of Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, and Juwan Johnson in that case.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (ankle) missed practice all week and is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings. The rookie has totaled just four carries and two targets since RB Jamaal Williams returned in Week 7, so there’s little fantasy impact here.
Saints RB Kendre Miller (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. The rookie has totaled just four carries and two targets over the past three weeks, so his absence vs. the Vikings this weekend would have very little fantasy impact.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara struggled in Week 9 vs. the Bears, logging just 70 total yards on a combined 13 touches. His 11 PPR points ranked 16th among RBs entering Sunday night football, so it’s not as though he was awful, but it’s a far cry from the 20.8 points per game he’d averaged over the previous six contests. Kamara’s schedule stays tough this week at the Vikings. Then comes a Week 11 bye. Of course, the superstar RB remains a locked-in starter across formats.
