DeVonta Smith Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni said Monday that he'll consider sitting some starters in Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Giants. Philly can win the NFC East only if the Cowboys lose to the Commanders -- a game in which Dallas is currently favored by 13. If the Cowboys win, the Eagles are locked into the No. 5 seed. "I'm not saying yes, I'm not saying no. I'm saying everything's discussed," Sirianni said of his starters playing on Sunday. Hopefully we have a clearer idea of the plan by the end of this week.

The Eagles believe WR DeVonta Smith has just a "mild" ankle sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He’ll have more tests today, but not considered a major injury," Rapoport adds. It's relatively good news, although Smith's availability for this weekend's regular-season finale vs. the Giants remains uncertain. We'll keep you updated on his status.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith was on crutches and had his right foot in a boot after Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. Teams often put injured ankles in walking boots after games, so this doesn't necessarily mean that Smith is dealing with a significant injury. But he might be. We should get an update on his status within the next 24 hours.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith got rolled up on late in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. He headed back to the locker room with trainers and did not return. The team never announced an injury. We'll update Smith's status when we know more.

The Eagles have removed WR DeVonta Smith (knee) from the injury report. He'll be fine for Monday's matchup with the Giants. Currently, he projects as a top-20 WR.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (knee) missed his second straight practice on Friday. We still don't have any details on the knee issue. We'll see if Smith practices on Saturday and how he's listed on the final injury report for Monday's game vs. the Giants.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (knee) did not practice on Thursday. We don't have any other details on the knee, but Smith has an extra day to get ready for Monday's game vs. the Giants. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith enjoyed a third straight strong outing Sunday, with TE Dallas Goedert (forearm) still out. Smith tallied a team-high 9 receptions for 96 yards on 11 targets in Sunday. He has reached 8 targets in a game six times this season. Half of those have come in the three games since Goedert went down. Philly expects to get Goedert back for Week 14 against the Cowboys. That could challenge Smith's target share. But it'll be tough to bet against Smith after five straight top-18 PPR finishes. He gets a challenging matchup with Dallas in Week 14 before a softer finish: three slightly positive matchups with the Seahawks, Giants, and Cardinals.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith tallied 7 receptions for 106 yards and a TD in Sunday's win over the Bills. The yardage marked his highest output since Week 2 but also the third time in the past four games that the delivered 99+ yards. Smith's 8 targets trailed WR A.J. Brown by one. But the pair combined to draw a target on 54.8% of QB Jalen Hurts' pass attempts. It was the second straight game that TE Dallas Goedert missed, which likely helped Smith's target count. Goedert is expected to remain out for the Week 13 clash with the 49ers but has a chance to return for a Week 14 visit to Dallas.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown hit a bump in Week 11, hauling in just 1 of 4 targets for 8 receiving yards vs. the Chiefs. For as disappointing as this performance is, crummy weather impacted pass-catchers on both teams. Yes, Eagles wideout DeVonta Smith (6 catches for 99 yards) had a fine outing, but he was the only player to amass greater than 60 receiving yards in this contest. So don’t let this showing stop you from going right back to Brown as a top-flight WR1 in Week 12 vs. the Bills. Remember: the superstar had posted no fewer than 18.7 PPR points in a game since Week 2 prior to Monday night.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith broke out of a funk with 7 catches, 99 yards, and 1 score in Week 8. Smith got behind the Washington secondary for a 38-yard deep-ball score. Overall, he saw an 18.4% target share – just behind A.J. Brown’s tally (21%). While the Commanders supplied an ideal matchup, Sunday should serve as a reminder that Smith remains in the WR2/3 mix. He’ll face a stiffer test next week vs. Dallas.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown hauled 10 of 15 targets for 137 receiving yards and a TD in Week 7’s victory over the Dolphins. This marks the fifth consecutive game that Brown has recorded at least 100 receiving yards, by far the longest streak of his NFL career. TE Dallas Goedert also shined on Sunday night, finishing the contest with 5 catches for 77 yards and a receiving TD. Despite being limited by a hamstring injury in practice this week, DeVonta Smith compiled 4 catches for 49 receiving yards. This trio of pass-catchers will have a tremendous opportunity to produce for fantasy managers again in Week 8 vs. a struggling Commanders secondary.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 7 injury report. He got in just two limited practices this week but will evidently be ready for his usual role in Sunday’s night’s game vs. the Dolphins.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) returned to practice on Thursday and said he'll play vs. the Dolphins on Sunday night. "You ain’t gotta worry bout me. I’ll be out there," Smith said, per The Philadelphia Inquirer's Josh Tolentino. We'll keep an eye on Smith over the next couple of days, but he can stay penciled into Week 7 fantasy lineups.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details right now on the hamstring or whether Smith is in danger of missing Sunday night's game vs. the Dolphins. It's worth noting that he played a full allotment of snaps in last week's loss to the Jets. We'll update Smith's status again tomorrow.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown racked up 131 yards on 7 receptions in Sunday's loss to the Jets. He checked in just third on the team in targets (9), as QB Jalen Hurts attempted a season-high 45 passes. Brown's 7 receptions also trailed RB D'Andre Swift by 1. But his yardage nearly tripled everyone else on the team. WR DeVonta Smith ranked second with 44 yards on 5 receptions. It was Brown's fourth straight game of 127+ yards. Matchups with Miami and Washington the next two weeks hold nothing intimidating.

The Jets have ruled CB Sauce Gardner out for Sunday's game against the Eagles with a concussion. That leaves New York without its top two corners, as D.J. Reed had already been ruled out. That obviously improves the matchup for Philly WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Gardner's issue didn't show up on the injury report until he missed practice Friday and was initially listed as an illness. A Week 7 bye will help Gardner's chances of not missing further game time.

Eagles WR A.J. Brown delivered 8 receptions for a team-high 127 yards in Sunday's win over the Rams. It was his third straight game with at least that many yards. Brown didn't even lead the team in targets this time. His 8 trailed TE Dallas Goedert by one and accounted for a lower-than-usual 21% of QB Jalen Hurts' total pass attempts. But it marked the fourth time in five games that Brown tallied at least 8 targets and 7 receptions. He's on pace for 125 catches and 1,839 yards. We'll take the under on those numbers, but we'll also gladly take Brown occupying a weekly starting spot across fantasy formats. WR DeVonta Smith, meanwhile, remained well behind Brown's share. He caught just one of 5 targets in Sunday's win. Smith has drawn a 20.2% target share through five games, compared with 30.4% for Brown.

Even with WR A.J. Brown garnering 35% of Eagles targets in Sunday's win over the Commanders, WR DeVonta Smith still managed a solid outing. He drew 9 targets, tallied 7 receptions, and totaled 78 yards. Smith saw a target on 24.3% of QB Jalen Hurts' 37 pass attempts. He's now up to 22.3% target share through four games. That's down a bit from last year's 25.4%, though, and makes Smith more of a high-end WR3 than WR2.

Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring, thigh) is not listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. He was a full participant in Saturday's practice, so it looks like there's nothing to worry about here. WR Quez Watkins (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3, leaving Olamide Zaccheaus as Philly's No. 3 WR.
