Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster underwent shoulder surgery on Sunday night and will miss the remainder of the 2021 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Smith-Schuster is set to hit free agency next offseason after inking a 1-year deal with Pittsburgh back in March. His absence the rest of this season will make WR Chase Claypool a safer weekly target bet. WR Diontae Johnson, of course, will continue to see plenty of volume.
Steelers WR Chase Claypool (hamstring) has been ruled out for tomorrow's game vs. the Packers. No surprise after he hurt that hamstring on Thursday and didn't practice on Friday. His status for Week 5 beyond is uncertain. WR James Washington will step into Claypool's spot in 3-WR sets but would be a shaky fantasy play with QB Ben Roethlisberger struggling badly. WRs Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster should also pick up extra targets.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) practiced all week and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll be back for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. Johnson racked up 22 targets over the first 2 games of the season and should be in for heavy volume again in Week 4.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He's on track to return for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. Even with a washed-up Ben Roethlisberger, Johnson's volume makes him a solid WR2 play.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. It's excellent news considering he missed last week's game with a knee injury we still don't know anything about. Johnson appears to have a chance to play vs. the Packers on Sunday. We'll get another update tomorrow.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals after missing practice all week. We still don't have any details on his injury, but this looks like a potential multi-game absence. The loss of Johnson will elevate James Washington to Pittsburgh's #3 WR spot -- and leave behind lots of opportunity for WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) missed practice again on Thursday. He's unlikely to play vs. the Bengals this weekend. That'd elevate WR James Washington into the starting lineup and mean more targets for WRs Chase Claypool and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. We still don't know much about his knee injury, but we're assuming for now that Johnson won't play vs. the Bengals this weekend. That'd free up a bunch of targets for guys like Chase Claypool, JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington, Najee Harris, Pat Freiermuth and Eric Ebron
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson did not suffer a "serious [knee] injury" in the loss to the Raiders, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Johnson's status for Week 3 is uncertain, but "it’s not a long-term injury," Garafolo adds. We'll look for further updates, but Johnson owners can at least breath a slight sigh of relief.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson injured his right knee on the final play of Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He needed help from trainers to get off the field. We'll look for an update.
