        George Kittle Has Torn Achilles

        1:24am UTC 1/12/26

49ers TE George Kittle tore his right Achilles in Sunday's Wild Card win over the Eagles, HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed afterward. That ends Kittle's season and threatens his availability for the start of the 2026 campaign, which kicks off in about eight months. Kittle won't be helped by the fact that he's 32 with a lengthy injury history. It's possible that we never see a dominant version of Kittle again. We'll keep you updated on his rehab progress this offseason. Jake Tonges will step in as San Francisco's lead TE for the rest of this playoff run -- and potentially early next season. He's averaged 6.7 targets, 4.8 catches, 45 yards, and 0.5 TDs across six games without Kittle this season.

        Ricky Pearsall INACTIVE

        11:34pm UTC 1/3/26

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee, ankle) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Seahawks. It's a surprise after he played last week and got in three limited practices this week. Pearsall's absence leaves Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson as San Francisco's No. 2 and 3 WRs -- and should mean more targets for RB Christian McCaffrey, TE George Kittle, and WR Jauan Jennings.

        George Kittle Active

        11:28pm UTC 1/3/26

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) is active for tonight's game vs. the Seahawks. He was limited in practice all week and very likely won't be at 100% for this one. But Kittle still sits safely at No. 2 in the Week 18 TE rankings.

George Kittle Questionable For Week 18

        2:03am UTC 1/2/26

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday night’s game vs. the Seahawks after a limited week of practice. He’s not back to 100%, but Kittle said Wednesday that he “absolutely” expects to play for the division title. We believe him – and have Kittle projected for a strong outing. Check back around 6:30 pm ET on Saturday for San Francisco’s inactives.

George Kittle Plans To Play Week 18

        1:35pm UTC 1/1/26

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) remained limited in Wednesday's practice but said that he "absolutely" expects to play vs. the Seahawks on Saturday night. Asked how he feels, Kittle said, "Fabulous. Great position for Saturday night to punch a one seed. So just with that, I'm doing fantastic." Kittle has a strong history of playing through injuries and will be a high-end Week 18 fantasy start.

George Kittle Back At Practice Tuesday

        1:21am UTC 12/31/25

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) got in a limited practice on Tuesday. That should have him on track to return for Saturday night's game vs. the Seahawks. We'll keep you updated on Kittle's status over the next few days.

        George Kittle INACTIVE

        11:55pm UTC 12/28/25

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Bears. That leaves Jake Tonges as San Francisco’s lead TE – and a viable fantasy fill-in. He averaged 6.2 targets, 4.4 catches, 41.8 yards, and 0.4 TDs in the five games Kittle missed early this season.

George Kittle Highly Unlikely To Play Against the Bears

        2:06pm UTC 12/28/25

TE George Kittle is "highly unlikely" to play against the Bears tonight, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Kittle will likely still test his ankle in pregame warm-ups, but he is unlikely to suit up. TE Jake Tonges will start in Kittle's place and had success replacing Kittle earlier in the season. If you are desperate for a TE, Tonges is worth a pick-up.

        George Kittle A Game-Time Decision

        12:56pm UTC 12/28/25

49ers TE George Kittle will test his injured ankle before deciding whether he can play vs. the Bears tonight, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "While most players don’t play if they don’t practice all week, Kittle is intent on testing it out to see if he’s got a shot," Rapoport adds. Fantasy managers are in a tough spot here, with 49ers inactives not due until a little before 7 pm ET tonight. If you're hoping to start Kittle, you need to have TE Jake Tonges rostered as insurance in case Kittle ends up inactive.

George Kittle Questionable For Week 17

        12:47am UTC 12/27/25

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Bears. He didn't practice all week. HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Kittle would have a better idea of his availability for this one on Saturday. We'll look for further updates on his status, but the late kickoff could make this a tricky spot for fantasy owners. If you're hoping to start Kittle, stash TE Jake Tonges as a backup plan. He averaged 6.2 targets, 4.4 catches, 41.8 yards, and 0.4 TDs in the five games Kittle missed early this season.

        George Kittle Out Wednesday

        2:30am UTC 12/25/25

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. “He’s got a chance, so we’re not ruling him out," HC Kyle Shanahan said. We'll hopefully have a good idea of Kittle's status for the Bears game by Sunday morning, but we won't get San Francisco's inactives until a little before 7 pm ET. Fantasy managers hoping to start Kittle should stash TE Jake Tonges as insurance.

George Kittle Has "Mid-To-Low" Ankle Sprain

        1:16am UTC 12/24/25

49ers TE George Kittle suffered a “mid-to-low ankle sprain" in Monday night's win over the Colts, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. That's better news than a high-ankle sprain but still leaves Kittle uncertain for Sunday night's game against the Bears. We'll keep tabs on his status throughout the rest of the week. Kittle's absence would turn TE Jake Tonges into an intriguing spot starter. He averaged 6.2 targets, 4.4 catches, 41.8 yards, and 0.4 TDs in the five games Kittle missed early this season.

        George Kittle Hurts Left Ankle

        12:59pm UTC 12/23/25

49ers TE George Kittle hurt his left ankle in the third quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Colts. He was visibly frustrated as he made his way off the field. Kittle was deemed questionable to return and remained on the sidelines, but he never made it back onto the field. He had a monster game before exiting, catching 7 of 8 targets for 115 yards and a score. But his availability for Sunday night's game vs. the Bears is now uncertain. HC Kyle Shanahan didn't have an update on the injury afterward. We'll keep you posted.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (ankle, knee) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Colts. He didn't practice all week and could certainly miss multiple games after aggravating his PCL injury last week. Pearsall's absence boosts the target projections on WR Jauan Jennings and TE George Kittle.

        49ers-Browns Weather Update

        3:26pm UTC 11/30/25

The forecast for today's 49ers-Browns game calls for sustained winds of 25 mph with gusts around 35 mph. The total in this game has dropped from 42.5 to 35.5. Expect a run-heavy game plan from both sides. RBs Christian McCaffrey and Quinshon Judkins can stay in fantasy lineups. TE George Kittle is the only comfortable play from either passing game. Avoid the kickers.

Welcome Back for Real, George Kittle

        3:50pm UTC 10/27/25

Niners TE George Kittle officially returned from his hamstring injury in Week 7. But he wound up just short of his usual playing-time share, drew just two targets, and produced nary a catch. Kittle re-emerged in Sunday's loss to the Texans, tying for the team lead with 4 receptions. Kittle tallied 43 yards and caught one of Mac Jones' 2 TD passes. The other scoring toss frustratingly went to TE Jake Tonges on a fourth-quarter route that ran him right in front of Kittle.

No Limitations For George Kittle In Week 7 Return

        12:38am UTC 10/18/25

49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) is off the final Week 7 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Kittle won’t have any limitations against the Falcons on Sunday night. "No pitch count," Shanahan said. "George has rehabbed really well. He came back 100% and had a good week of practice, so we’ll space it out throughout the game but no pitch count." There’s still some risk of re-injury here, but Kittle is back near the top of the Week 7 TE rankings.

George Kittle "Fully Plans" To Play Week 7

        12:34am UTC 10/17/25

49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) remained limited in practice on Wednesday, but he said afterward that he "fully plans" on playing vs. the Falcons on Sunday night, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. Kittle added that the final decision rests with HC Kyle Shanahan but that he expects to get the green light. We'll see how Kittle is listed on Friday's final injury report and look for further updates on the 49ers' plans for Kittle in his first action since Week 1.

        George Kittle Limited Wednesday

        2:17am UTC 10/16/25

49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) was officially limited in Wednesday's practice. The Athletic's Matt Barrows writes that Kittle had "HIGH ENERGY" in the portion of practice open to media. We're expecting Kittle to return for Sunday night's game vs. the Falcons, but we'll continue to keep an eye on his status over the next few days.

George Kittle Not Expected Back At Practice Next Week

        7:04pm UTC 10/3/25

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that TE George Kittle (hamstring) is a "long shot" to have his practice window opened next week. The following week is more likely, Shanahan said. We can safely assume Kittle will not play in Week 6, and we'd consider him 50/50 for Week 7 considering he'll need some time to ramp back up coming off the extended layoff. TE Jake Tonges has averaged 6.0 targets, 4.0 catches, and 37.8 yards with Kittle out over the last four weeks.
