Is Brian Robinson Jr. Getting Annoying?

        3:34am UTC 11/17/25

No one can complain about Christian McCaffrey's fantasy output after he racked up 3 TDs (two rushing, one receiving) in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. But it's worth noting that he's ceding rushing work to No. 2 RB Brian Robinson Jr. That included garnering eight carries for 24 yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.

Christian McCaffrey Leads 49ers In Rushing And Receiving

        2:18am UTC 11/3/25

Mac Jones filled in at QB once again for the San Francisco 49ers, who traveled to MetLife Stadium and handled the New York Giants 34-24. The 49ers' offense once again was led by RB Christian McCaffrey, who led the team in rushing and receiving. McCaffrey touched the ball 33 times, compiled 173 scrimmage yards, and scored a pair of TDs, one rushing and one receiving.

Ugly 49ers First Half Sets Up Disturbingly Human Christian McCaffrey Outing

        4:12pm UTC 10/27/25

If you're wondering what the heck happened to Christian McCaffrey in Week 8, then here's the relative good news: nothing bad. The 49ers RB didn't get hurt in Sunday's loss to the Texans. He just also didn't get a whole lot else. McCaffrey rushed eight times for 25 yards and managed only 3 receptions for 43 yards on six targets. The biggest issue for McCaffrey in Week 8: His team stunk.

Brock Purdy & Top Two WRs Out For Week 5

        8:12pm UTC 10/1/25

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) and WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) have all been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Rams. It doesn't sound like any of their injuries are serious, but the short week did them no favors. We'll see if they can make it back for Week 6. QB Mac Jones makes another start vs. the Rams this week. He played well in Week 2 and 3 starts, completing 66% of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with 4 TDs vs. 1 INT. He'll be working with a rag tag group of pass catchers on Thursday night, though. The WR corps figures to be led by Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, and Skyy Moore, while Jake Tonges again leads the TE room. We'd try not to mess with any of these guys in Week 5 fantasy lineups. RB Christian McCaffrey will be very busy yet again.

Jauan Jennings Won't Play Week 3

        3:23pm UTC 9/21/25

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) will not play vs. the Cardinals this afternoon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. So San Francisco will be without Jennings, WR Brandon Aiyuk, and TE George Kittle. Expect RB Christian McCaffrey and WR Ricky Pearsall to be the focal points of the offense. It'll be WRs Kendrick Bourne, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Russell Gage, and Skyy Moore behind Pearsall.

Brock Purdy A "Long Shot" For Week 2, Could Miss Multiple Games

        11:25pm UTC 9/10/25

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe, shoulder) is a "long shot" to play vs. the Saints this weekend, HC Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday. Shanahan added that Purdy could be looking at a multi-week absence. SI's Grant Cohn hears that the team is expecting Purdy to miss two games. His absence will leave QB Mac Jones under center.

Christian McCaffrey's Calf Holds Up Through Heavy Workload

        9:53am UTC 9/8/25

Niners RB Christian McCaffrey might have been questionable entering the weekend, but you wouldn't have known it by the way the team used him in the victory over Seattle. McCaffrey rushed 22 times and caught nine of 10 targets Sunday. He led his nearest teammates by three targets and five catches. That workload helped prop up an inefficient day on the ground, where McCaffrey managed a mere 3.1 yards per carry. His 73 receiving yards marked a solid 8.1-yard average. McCaffrey wound up with the third-best PPR score among RBs for the week (pending Monday night) even without scoring a TD.

        Christian McCaffrey Active

        6:34pm UTC 9/7/25

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Seahawks. He popped up on Thursday’s injury report as limited and officially did not practice on Friday. McCaffrey went through an extensive warmup on Friday, though, and didn’t sound concerned about his status afterward. Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported this morning that scans on McCaffrey’s calf came back “completely clean.” There’s still some additional risk here, but CMC belongs in Week 1 fantasy lineups. RB Jordan James (finger) is inactive today, leaving RBs Brian Robinson and Isaac Guerendo behind McCaffrey.

Schefter: Christian McCaffrey WILL PLAY Week 1

        3:05pm UTC 9/7/25

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf) will play vs. the Seahawks this afternoon. “He’s good to go,” a source said. Schefter reported earlier this morning that McCaffrey could be a game-time decision, but it sounds like the team has already determined that the calf is in good enough shape for him to suit up. There's still some elevated risk here, but McCaffrey would be impossible to leave out of Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Christian McCaffrey Still On Track To Play Week 1

        1:31pm UTC 9/7/25

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is still "trending" to play vs. the Seahawks this afternoon. McCaffrey was a "big part of walk-through on Saturday," Rapoport adds. While no one has flat-out guaranteed that McCaffrey will be active for the opener, it continues to sound likely that he plays. We'll get San Francisco's inactives a little after 2:30 pm ET.

Christian McCaffrey Questionable For Week 1

        9:00pm UTC 9/5/25

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (calf) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. He was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Thursday and officially did not practice on Friday. McCaffrey was on the field going through warmups at the start of Friday's practice, though, and looked reasonably healthy. We'll surely get multiple updates on McCaffrey between now and kickoff on Sunday. Hopefully he's not a game-time decision, though, because 49ers-Seahawks doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET. McCaffrey's absence would leave Brian Robinson as San Francisco's lead back, although it's unclear exactly how big a role he'd be ready for after joining the team on August 22. RB Isaac Guerendo will also be available for the 'Niners, but RB Jordan James (finger) is doubtful.
