Raheem Mostert Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Ravens. RBs De’Von Achane, Jeff Wilson, and Chris Brooks are active for Miami. Achane figures to get a touch boost with Mostert out, but we’re also expecting Wilson to be plenty involved. See the updated projections for the Dolphins backfield.

ESPN and NFL Network report that Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) will NOT play vs. the Ravens today. Mostert has been battling various injuries throughout the season, but this will be the first game that he misses. His absence will leave Miami's backfield to De'Von Achane, Jeff Wilson, and Chris Brooks. Achane is likely to get more work with Mostert out, although we doubt Miami makes him a workhorse. Wilson figures to mix in plenty and could be a RB3 or flex option for fantasy teams.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Mostert has been on the injury report for most of the season, but this is the first time he's been questionable since Week 8. Mostert played 56% of Miami's snaps in that game, posting a 13-46-1 rushing line vs. New England. We're tentatively expecting him to play against Baltimore on Sunday but will look for more on his status.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. He was always unlikely to play in this one and could also miss next weekend's regular-season finale vs. the Bills with his high-ankle sprain. WR Cedrick Wilson is the likely Waddle replacement but is no more than a cheap flier for DFS tournaments. WR Tyreek Hill and RBs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane are candidates for more targets with Waddle out.

Dolphins RBs Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) and De’Von Achane (toe) are off the final Week 16 injury report. Mostert was a full-go on Friday; Achane got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. We’re not expecting either guy to be impacted by their injuries vs. the Cowboys on Sunday.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He's been sitting out Wednesdays lately, but this is the first time this season he's been out on Wednesday and Thursday. Mostert is listed on the injury report with knee, ankle, and vet rest, so we don't know whether the injuries are actually what's keeping him sidelined. Check back tomorrow for another update on Mostert's status for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (ankle) is INACTIVE for today’s game vs. the Jets. He tried to give it a go but evidently didn’t feel well enough in pregame warmups. Hill’s absence removes 30% of Miami’s targets, 32% of the catches, 41% of the receiving yards, and 48% of the receiving TDs. It’s obviously a huge loss for QB Tua Tagovailoa, who is not a must-start against this tough Jets defense. The Dolphins figure to lean more on their run game today, while WR Jaylen Waddle and potentially the RBs get a boost in target share.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert racked up 21 carries for 96 yards and two TDs in Monday night's loss to the Titans. He played 64% of Miami's offensive snaps and tripled up RB De'Von Achane in carries. Mostert has now carried 20+ times in three of his last four games. The other was the blowout win over the Commanders when he barely played in the second half. Miami gets tough pass defenses in the Jets, Cowboys, and Ravens the next three weeks. All three of those teams rank better in pass defense DVOA than rush defense DVOA. So we could see the Dolphins lean a bit more toward the run -- especially with WR Tyreek Hill banged up. Mostert needs the rushing volume (and TDs) because he's totaled just five targets over his last four games. That lowers his weekly floor. But the rushing volume has been strong enough to keep him in must-start territory.

The final numbers from Sunday's blowout win over the Commanders suggest Dolphins RB De'Von Achane took over the backfield in his second return from a knee injury. The rookie tallied a 17-73-2 rushing line, leading the team in carries, yards, and TDs. And he ranked third among Dolphins in receptions (3) and receiving yards (30). Raheem Mostert trailed at 11-43-1 rushing, catching his lone target for 8 yards. But usage looked very different before and after halftime. According to Pro Football Focus, Mostert played 19 of Miami's 29 offensive snaps in the first half, compared with Achane's 12. Mostert hit halftime with a 9-3 carry lead and 1 target to Achane's 2 -- and Miami leading 31-7. Mostert played just 4 more snaps after the break, compared with Achane's 23. The rookie scored both of his TDs in that span. Mostert's TD came in the first half. So what's the takeaway? Expect both RBs to remain plenty involved and carry weekly TD upside. The remaining four matchups in most fantasy schedules don't look good for RB scoring (10th-worst schedule in the league by our adjusted fantasy points allowed). But the slate looks even worse for passing points. So consider Mostert and Achane weekly starting options the rest of the way. Jeff Wilson Jr., meanwhile, garnered only 4 carries even in a blowout victory. He's safe to drop in most fantasy formats.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) is not listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Mostert might lose a few touches to RB De'Von Achane on Sunday, but he remains a nice fantasy play with Miami sporting a big 29.5-point implied total.

Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) will play vs. the Commanders this weekend, HC Mike McDaniel said Friday. The rookie shapes up as a risk/reward Week 13 fantasy play. He returned from this knee injury two weeks ago but lasted just three snaps before aggravating the injury. Achane has remained limited in practice this week. That's the downside. The upside? How about 518 total yards and seven TDs in his last three healthy games. Achane's return is just a slight knock against RB Raheem Mostert but knocks RB Jeff Wilson out of RB3 or flex consideration.

Update: Achane was a full participant in Friday's practice and is not listed on the final injury report.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. The 31-year-old is already up to 151 carries -- the second-most of his career -- and his body is probably feeling it. But he should be out there for Sunday's game vs. the Commanders.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) did not practice on Wednesday. He was on the injury report with these ailments the past two weeks but practiced on a limited basis on both Wednesdays. We're still tentatively expecting Mostert to play vs. the Commanders this weekend but will keep you updated on his status.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday that two key factors kept RB De'Von Achane out of Friday's win over the Jets. First, Miami wants to have "full confidence" in Achane's knee before playing him again, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Friday's game also meant a short week and a matchup with a physical opponent. Achane reportedly has a better chance of playing this Sunday against the Commanders, though the Dolphins obviously aren't making that decision yet. We'll watch the rookie RB's status throughout the week.

Dolphins RB De’Von Achane (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jets. He got in three limited practices this week and was listed as questionable, so a Week 13 return seems possible. RBs Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, and Darrynton Evans are active for Miami today. Mostert should handle the majority of the backfield work against New York’s 29th-ranked RB defense.

Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday afternoon's game vs. the Jets. He was limited in practice all week. The Dolphins elevated RB Darrynton Evans from the practice squad on Thursday, which is an indication that they're not particularly optimistic about Achane's availability for this one. We'll get Miami's inactives around 1:30 pm ET on Friday.

Dolphins beat writer Barry Jackson writes that RB De’Von Achane’s status for Week 12 “seems highly questionable.” Miami plays on Friday afternoon, which doesn’t give the rookie’s knee much time to heal. “He was feeling better this morning,” HC Mike McDaniel said Monday. “It’s not going to require surgery. We are getting extra feedback and opinions and taking that day by day this week.” McDaniel also shared that Achane’s right knee was injured on Sunday – the same one he sprained in Week 5. We’ll let you know when there’s another update on his status. In the meantime, Raheem Mostert will remain the clear RB1, with Salvon Ahmed as the likely change-of-pace option. Note: Jeff Wilson was a healthy scratch in Week 11.

Dolphins RB De'Von Achane is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Raiders with a knee injury. This is presumably related to the injury that had the rookie sidelined since Week 5. We'll update Achane's status when we know more. His absence leaves Miami with RBs Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed.
