Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
New Jets WR Davante Adams is "planning" to play vs. the Steelers on Sunday night, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll see if Adams' (alleged) hamstring injury impacts his practice week. Considering his long history with QB Aaron Rodgers, we'd expect his transition to a new team to be much smoother than it is for most WRs who move in-season. The matchup is tough against Pittsburgh's fourth-ranked WR defense, but Adams will certainly be startable for most fantasy teams.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Raiders are finalizing a deal to send WR Davante Adams to the Jets for a conditional draft pick that could become a second-rounder at peak.
Todd Downing will replace Nathaniel Hackett as the Jets' play-caller, interim HC Jeff Ulbrich announced on Thursday. While defensive-minded HC Robert Saleh was canned earlier this week, the offense has been the real problem in New York. The Jets rank 23rd in points, 27th in total yards, and 27th in yards per play. That's largely on Hackett, who has deployed a stale offense. We're just not sure it'll get much better with Downing. He's spent three seasons as an NFL OC, one with the Raiders and two with the Titans. Those offenses ranked 17th, 17th, and 30th in total yards. QB Aaron Rodgers is on board with the move, according to insider Connor Hughes. We'll get our first look at Downing's offense in Monday night's Jets vs. Bills game.
The New York Jets have fired Head Coach Robert Saleh after the Jets started with a 2-3 record. They are coming off a 23-17 loss to the Vikings in the UK. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich is being named the interim head coach and will coach the team on Monday when they face off against the Buffalo Bills.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a low-ankle sprain in Sunday morning's loss to the Vikings, HC Robert Saleh said. "All the preliminary stuff says he'll be fine," Saleh added. Rodgers has an extra day to heal up ahead of next Monday night's game vs. the Bills. It sounds like he'll be available for that one, although any loss of mobility is a concern for the 40-year-old. Rodgers has taken eight sacks over his last two games.
Jets WR Allen Lazard ended with a stat line of four catches on 10 targets for 34 yards against the Vikings. He did connect with Aaron Rodgers for a TD and nearly had another TD on a tough catch.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is not listed on the final Week 5 injury report. He dealt with knee swelling early in the week and was limited on Wednesday. But he put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. It all suggests that the knee won’t be a major factor in this weekend’s game vs. the Vikings.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) was limited in practice on Wednesday. He revealed earlier this week that he came out of the loss to the Broncos with a swollen knee. He doesn't seem to be in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Vikings, but it's possible that the knee is a factor. We'll keep an eye on Rodgers over the next few days.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers said on the Pat McAfee Show that he came out of the Week 4 loss to the Broncos with a knee issue. "I'm feeling a little banged up," Rodgers said. "Knee is a little swollen." Rodgers never exited the Denver game, and it's unclear when the injury occurred. But it might have played a part in the Jets' disappointing outing. They scored just nine points, and Rodgers mustered just 225 scoreless passing yards on 42 attempts (5.4 YPA). We'll keep an eye on his status throughout this week, but Rodgers won't be a recommended QB1 starter vs. the Vikings on Sunday in London.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers turned back the clock in an easy Week 3 win over the Patriots. He completed 27 of 35 passes (77%) for 281 yards (8.0 YPA), two TDs, and 0 INTs. Rodgers and WR Garrett Wilson weren't on the same page on a few routes (four of the eight incompletions were intended for Wilson), but Rodgers was otherwise deadly accurate to all levels of the field. He even flashed some remaining mobility, carrying three times for 18 yards and making multiple throws on the move. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Rodgers completed all five of his passes when on the run for 62 yards and a TD.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson remained quiet in a Week 2 win over Tennessee. He tallied 4 grabs for 57 yards, going without a score for the second straight week.
Jets HC Robert Saleh suggested that WR Mike Williams might play limited snaps early this season. He's working back from a torn ACL suffered last September.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is expected to be a full participant in OTAs later this month, HC Robert Saleh said. Rodgers is about eight months removed from his torn Achilles. "Once phase three hits, we're not anticipating any restrictions from what we can and can't do with him," Saleh said. It's been a smooth rehab for Rodgers by all accounts, and he should be ready to roll come Week 1. It's excellent news for WR Garrett Wilson, RB Breece Hall, and the rest of New York's skill-position players.
