His final stat line of 5-83 was a solid fantasy day, despite not finding the end zone. He also had two runs for 38 yards including a 35-yard scamper. He did all this while playing limited snaps. Worthy’s 43 snaps ranked well below Juju Smith-Schuster who led the Chiefs’ WRs with 57 snaps. But Worthy’s presence seemed to ignite a Chiefs’ passing game that was dormant. QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 270 yards and 4 TDsin the game.

The Chiefs have downgraded WR Xavier Worthy to out for Sunday night's game against the Giants, and he is not traveling with the team, according to multiple reports. Kansas City initially listed Worthy as questionable after a limited practice participation all week. But the team has clearly deemed the wideout not yet ready to play.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes heads into Monday night's games as the QB7 in Week 2 fantasy scoring. Fantasy managers can thank his rushing production for the second week in a row. Mahomes threw for just 187 yards, with 1 TD and 1 INT, on 16-of-29 passing in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Even those numbers got a large boost from a 49-yard TD connection with WR Tyquan Thornton with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Mahomes racked up 66 yards and a TD on the ground, though, with all seven of his rushes coming via scramble. His TD came from 13 yards out in the second quarter and followed a 6-57-1 rushing line from the opening loss to the Chargers.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes turned in a solid fantasy outing in the Week 1 loss to the Chargers, throwing for 258 yards and a score and running for 57 yards and another TD. But it was a worrisome outing for his fantasy value going forward. The Chiefs' passing game looked a lot like it did last year: Every yard looked hard. Mahomes averaged just 6.6 yards per attempt -- and that was with a well-designed 37-yard TD to TE Travis Kelce and a blown coverage by the Chargers that left WR Marquise Brown wide open for a 49-yard reception. Outside of those two plays, Mahomes averaged 4.6 yards per attempt with just one other completion of more than 16 yards.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Chiefs WR Rashee Rice is accepting a six-game suspension and will serve it at the start of this season.

Chiefs WR Marquise Brown sustained an ankle injury in Tuesday's practice, HC Andy Reid said. No word yet on the severity or a timeline for Brown's return.

Update: Brown "avoided anything serious and is expected to be back on the field as early as tomorrow," according to insider Jordan Schultz.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that a Dallas judge has sentenced Chiefs WR Rashee Rice to five years' probation and 30 days in jail for his role in a multi-car accident on March 30, 2024. It's a surprising turn in the case, given that no trial date had been set for Rice as of early July. This announcement of the sentence seems to signal that a plea bargain was reached. Of course, the big question for fantasy managers is whether and how long we should expect to lose Rice from our lineups now.

Chiefs OC Matt Nagy said a big offseason focus for the team has been improving the downfield passing game. The Chiefs ranked 27th in pass plays of 20+ yards last year and tied for 24th in pass plays of 40+ yards.
