Travis Kelce Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce are inactive for today’s game vs. the Broncos. RB Kareem Hunt is active but unlikely to play much, if at all.

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco (rib) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He's expected to be ready for the team's playoff opener in a couple of weeks. QB Patrick Mahomes, RB Kareem Hunt, and TE Travis Kelce are listed as doubtful and won't play in this meaningless game. Don't expect WRs Xavier Worthy, DeAndre Hopkins, or Marquise Brown to play much, if at all.

Chiefs QB Carson Wentz will start this weekend's game vs. the Broncos, HC Andy Reid said Wednesday. QB Patrick Mahomes will get the day off after clinching the AFC's No. 1 seed last week. Other key contributors like RBs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, WRs Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, and DeAndre Hopkins, and TE Travis Kelce also figure to be held out or limited against Denver. Try to avoid the Chiefs offense in Week 18 fantasy lineups. They're currently implied for only 14.75 points in Denver.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes waited until the fantasy championship, but he rewarded those who started him, completing 29 of 38 passes for 320 yards and three TDs. His success made TE Travis Kelce and WR Xavier Worthy very viable, even against the near elite Steelers defense.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 28 of 41 attempts for 260 yards and 1 score in Saturday's win over Houston. He added a 5-33-1 rushing line.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 16 injury report and will start Saturday's game vs. the Texans. He was a full participant in practice all week. Reportedly dealing with a high-ankle sprain, it's safe to assume that Mahomes won't have his usual mobility against Houston. And he'd already been underwhelming in fantasy football, finishing outside the top-15 QBs in four of his last five games. Mahomes sits well outside QB1 territory in the Week 16 Rankings, but his availability is good news for the rest of Kansas City's offense.

The forecast for today’s Chiefs-Browns game calls for a 60% chance of rain with sustained winds of 15 mph and gusts up around 30 mph. That’s enough wind to impact the passing and kicking games. Throw in the likelihood of rain and we’re looking at tough conditions. We’ve bumped down our passing projections for both teams and would avoid the kickers from this game. Check out the updated Week 15 Rankings to see where all the Chiefs and Browns land.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce managed only 2 catches for 8 yards in Sunday’s loss to Buffalo. Kelce entered halftime without a reception.

The Titans are finalizing a deal to trade WR DeAndre Hopkins to the Chiefs. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Tennessee will get a fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-rounder.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters Monday that WR JuJu Smith-Schuster will miss next Sunday's game against the Raiders with the injury to his right hamstring.

Underdog Fantasy's James Palmer reports that the Chiefs fear WR Rashee Rice tore his right ACL in the Week 4 win over the Chargers. Rice is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, but doctors can often accurately diagnose a torn ACL without scans. If confirmed, Rice's 2024 season would be over.

Another night of mediocre night for Chiefs TE Travis Kelce against the Atlanta Falcons. He only caught four of his five targets for 30 yards and did not find the end zone, something he hasn’t done yet this season.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes underwhelmed in a Week 2 win over the Bengals. Mahomes mustered only 151 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs, marking his lowest yardage output since Week 7 of 2019.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce managed only 1 catch for 5 yards in a Week 2 win over Cincinnati. This marked his first game with fewer than two catches since Week 1 of 2018.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught just three passes for 34 scoreless yards in Thursday night's win over the Ravens. Three Chiefs -- including TE Noah Gray -- finished with more yards. Volume was not on Kelce's side in this one. Kansas City ran just 50 plays after averaging 64.5 per game last year. And QB Patrick Mahomes threw only 28 times after averaging 37.3 per game last year.

Chiefs WR Marquise Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation in his left shoulder in Saturday's preseason game, HC Andy Reid said afterward. "He'll miss some time," Reid said, adding that this is similar to the injury WR Tyreek Hill suffered in 2019. Hill missed four games with that injury.

Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports says Chiefs rookie TE Jared Wiley is "already getting a lot of play with the starters" in team workouts -- including red-zone opportunities. Wiley's obviously not going to challenge TE Travis Kelce's standing anytime soon. But there's room for him to compete with Noah Gray for the No. 2 spot. Gray played 52.4% of K.C.'s offensive snaps last season, thanks in part to Kelce missing two games. Gray also finished sixth on the team in targets and fourth in receptions.

The Chiefs and TE Travis Kelce agreed to a two-year, $34.25 million contract extension, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It makes Kelce the league's highest-paid TE and keeps him with Kansas City through the 2027 season. He'll be 38 by that point. We'll see whether Kelce plays through the life of this contract, but it looks like he'll retire as a Chief. His 14.8 PPR points per game last year were his fewest since 2016 -- but were still enough to lead all TEs. Kelce sits atop our 2024 fantasy football TE rankings.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce said after Sunday's Super Bowl win that he'll be back for the 2024 season. There had been some whispers that he'd retire, especially if the Chiefs won another title. But Kelce will help Kansas City gun for a three-peat. The 34-year-old averaged 14.8 PPR points per game this past year -- his fewest since 2016 but still enough to lead all TEs. Kelce then racked up 32 catches, 355 yards, and three TDs across four playoff games. He sits atop our 2024 fantasy football TE rankings.
