Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is expected to practice on Wednesday, HC Mike McCarthy said. The team still believes Lamb has a chance to play vs. the Raiders on Thursday. It's rare for a player to clear concussion protocol in 4 days, but we'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (calf) has been designated to return from IR. That means he'll return to practice this week, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll play vs. the Ravens on Sunday night. We'll keep an eye on Hunt's progress over the next few days. Cleveland would need to activate him by 4 pm ET on Saturday if he's going to play vs. Baltimore.

Jets QB Zach Wilson will start Sunday's game vs. the Texans, The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports. In related news, QBs Joe Flacco and Mike White were both placed on the COVID list on Tuesday. QB Josh Johnson will back up Wilson this weekend. It'll be the rookie's first action since hurting his knee back in Week 7. He's largely struggled this year and can't be trusted in fantasy lineups.

The Titans released RB Adrian Peterson. This could be the end of the road for the 36-year-old, who averaged just 3.0 yards on 27 attempts over the past 3 weeks. Tennessee will move forward with RBs D'Onta Foreman, Dontrelle Hilliard and Jeremy McNichols for as long as Derrick Henry is out.

Saints RBs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram missed Tuesday's practice with knee injuries. Kamara seems like a long shot to make it back for Thursday night's game vs. the Bills. Ingram's status is less clear. The veteran might just be getting some time off on the short week, but check back tomorrow for another update. Insider Nick Underhill says RB Tony Jones would "carry the load" if Kamara and Ingram are out Thursday. Jones is a fine speculative pickup tonight.

Bears WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) remained sidelined on Tuesday. He's looking unlikely to play vs. the Lions on Thanksgiving, leaving Darnell Mooney and Marquise Goodwin as Chicago's top 2 WRs.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (concussion) did not practice on Tuesday. Dallas' front office has suggested that Lamb has a chance to play vs. the Raiders on Thursday, but he seems like a long shot to clear the protocol over the next 48 hours. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Lions HC Dan Campbell said it's "leaning toward" QB Jared Goff (oblique) starting Thursday's game vs. the Bears. Goff has been Goff this season -- but he's significantly better than Tim Boyle. His return would be good news for RB D'Andre Swift and TE T.J. Hockenson.

Steelers TE Eric Ebron is expected to need knee surgery and miss "extended time," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. Ebron is getting a 2nd opinion on the injured knee before going under the knife. His absence would be excellent news for TE Pat Freiermuth, who posted 68% and 73% routes rates in his last 2 games without Ebron.

The Giants fired OC Jason Garrett. His squad ranked 31st in both total yards and points in 2020. This year's Giants currently sit 23rd in yards and 25th in points. Garrett was strapped with an uneven QB, a bad offensive line and lots of skill-position injuries -- but his offense never showed the slightest hint of creativity. Freddie Kitchens is expected to take over as interim OC, according to The New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy. Kitchens struggled as Browns HC in 2019 but did spark the offense after taking over as OC midway through the 2018 campaign. We don't expect a big rebound from the Giants the rest of the way, but Kitchens can only be an upgrade over Garrett.

Bears QB Andy Dalton will start Thursday's game vs. the Lions, HC Matt Nagy said. QB Justin Fields' rib injury isn't believed to be serious, but he evidently won't be ready for the quick turnaround. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 13. Despite the plus matchup, Dalton is only in play in 2-QB leagues and Thanksgiving DFS contests.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that he expects to get EDGE T.J. Watt (knee), S Minkah Fitzpatrick (COVID), CB Joe Haden (foot) and DL Isaiahh Loudermilk (groin) back for Sunday's game against the Bengals, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports. That's good news for both the Pittsburgh defense and IDP owners. It's a positive scoring matchup for Watt and the Steelers DBs.

The Texans released RB Phillip Lindsay. He finishes his 10-game Houston tenure with 50 carries for 130 yards -- 2.6 yards per carry. We'll see where Lindsay lands, but he's a long shot to be a fantasy factor the rest of this season. The Texans seem content to split backfield duties between David Johnson and Rex Burkhead the rest of the way. Even in a plus Week 12 matchup vs. the Jets, the situation should be avoided in fantasy lineups.

Giants WR Kadarius Toney suffered a quad contusion in the 4th quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Bucs. He's officially questionable to return but probably won't considering the score. We'll look for further updates on Toney's injury and monitor his status leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Eagles.

The Broncos on Monday designated OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) to return from IR. He had surgery back in September for a nagging injury. We'll see whether Chubb can make it back to the active roster for this week's game against the Chargers. We'll need to see at least a game's worth of playing time before considering Chubb for IDP lineups.

Seahawks RB Chris Carson will undergo cervical-fusion neck surgery, HC Pete Carroll said. “So that’s a surgery that can get him back somewhere late in the spring, is what I’ve heard," Carroll added. The team believes this surgery will solve the long-term neck discomfort that Carson has dealt with, according to insider Gregg Bell. Bell, though, cites a 2016 study that found that only two-thirds of NFL players who had this surgery returned to play. The average timeline for return was 9 months, which would put Carson back on the field in August. We'll monitor his rehab this offseason.

The Saints and Taysom Hill agreed to a 4-year extension, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The deal reportedly pays Hill a $40 million base salary for the hybrid role he's currently playing. He can make up to $55 million more if he becomes New Orleans' starting QB. The team's handling of Hill has been curious, starting him over Jameis Winston last season and then keeping him behind Trevor Siemian the past 3 weeks.

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski (back) is active for tonight's game vs. the Giants. He's played just 6 snaps since Week 3, so he's a risk/reward fantasy play.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is active for tonight's game against the Bucs. He was limited in practice all week, and it's unclear how big a role he's ready for in his first action since Week 5. But if you were waiting on Barkley, get him into fantasy lineups. RB Devontae Booker (hip) is also active for the G-Men.

Saints TE Adam Trautman is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering an MCL sprain in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That makes the 2nd-year TE droppable in just about all redraft fantasy football leagues. We'll see whether Juwan Johnson can get back into the picture, but Nick Vannett and Garrett Griffin both played ahead of him at Philly. Vannett figures to be the next guy up.
