Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Giants HC Joe Judge said Friday that S Logan Ryan will likely miss a 2nd straight game on the COVID list. It sounded like there was still a slight chance Ryan might be able to get in the 2 negative tests needed to make him eligible to return, but Judge conceded that the Giants are planning to not have Ryan available. S Julian Love played every snap against the Bucs in Ryan's absence.

The Titans have ruled LBs David Long and Rashaan Evans out for Sunday's game against the Patriots. That leaves Jayon Brown and Monty Rice as the starters, with Brown the top choice for IDP lineups.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan expects to get LB Dre Greenlaw activated ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Greenlaw has been out since suffering a groin injury back in Week 1, so it's tough to expect an immediate return to full playing time. We'll see if we hear anything else about the LB plan for Sunday's game. If we don't, it'll be risky to use either Greenlaw or Azeez Al-Shaair in IDP lineups this week.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (finger) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings. He was limited in practice all week and still in a non-contact jersey on Friday, according to The Athletic’s David Lombardi. We’ll look for an update on Mitchell on Sunday morning. Vikings-49ers doesn’t kick off until 4:25 pm ET. RB JaMycal Hasty (ankle) has been ruled out again.

Broncos S Kareem Jackson (neck) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Rookie Caden Sterns will start in Jackson's place next to Justin Simmons, according to The Denver Post. Sterns had a 2-sack game back in Week 4 and has 2 INTs among 4 total passes defensed on limited snaps this season.

Jets WR Corey Davis (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Texans. He reportedly hurt his groin on Wednesday, didn’t practice on Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. We’ll get Davis’ game status around 11:30 am ET on Sunday, but he’ll come with elevated risk if active.

Jets RB Michael Carter (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. The rookie is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with his high-ankle sprain. His absence leaves New York’s backfield to Ty Johnson and Tevin Coleman. We’re expecting carries to be split fairly evenly, but Johnson should dominate passing-game work.

Packers WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams after a limited week of practice. He’s not a real fantasy option, but Lazard’s return would put a dent in WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s target projection.

Bills CB Tre'Davious White tore his left ACL in Thursday night's win over the Saints and will miss the rest of the season, the team website reports. Dane Jackson filled in after White went down and figures to start in his place.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. He was limited in practice all week. HC Matt LaFleur said Friday that Jones will be evaluated again on Saturday and that a final decision on his availability might not come until pregame warmups. Rams-Packers doesn’t kick off until 4:25 pm ET, but we’ll continue to look for updates on Jones’ status.

Titans TE Geoff Swaim (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots. He was a full-go on Wednesday, sidelined on Thursday and then a full participant again on Friday. So it's tough to know where he is in the protocol. Tennessee could use all the help it can get on Sunday with WRs A.J. Brown, Julio Jones and Marcus Johnson out -- along with, of course, RB Derrick Henry.

The Cowboys will consider giving RB Ezekiel Elliott some time off to help the bone bruise in his knee heal, ESPN's Ed Werder reports. Werder specifically mentions Zeke being held out of next Thursday night's game vs. the Saints. He adds that IR is not being considered "at this time." HC Mike McCarthy admitted earlier on Friday that he's concerned about Elliott's situation. "Zeke's running style is ferocious," McCarthy said. "He gives a pounding, and he takes some hits. We need to evaluate that, and this week we'll see what the preparation looks like for him." We'll continue to keep an eye on the situation, but Elliott owners should start preparing for him to miss Week 13. Tony Pollard will be a RB1 whenever Zeke sits.

Ravens CB Anthony Averett (thigh) and DL Calais Campbell (concussion) are questionable for Sunday night''s game against the Browns. Averett sustained the injury during the practice week last week, missing Friday's workout and then the game. He sat out Wednesday's practice this week before limited participation Thursday and Friday.

Falcons LB Deion Jones is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He didn't show up on the injury report until Friday, when a shoulder injury limited his participation. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

The Vikings on Friday placed DE Everson Griffen on the non-football illness list. That followed an incident earlier in the week in which team mental-health professionals as well as local police were called to Griffen's home. That incident fortunately ended without harm to anyone, but Griffen is getting treatment. It's not the 1st mental-health-related episode of his career. Landing on the NFI list means Griffen will miss at least 3 games, which means you can drop him from IDP rosters. Minnesota is left with D.J. Wonnum, Patrick Jones II and Tashawn Bower on the active roster at DE. Kenny Willekes is also available on the practice squad after a stint on the COVID list.

Colts LB Darius Leonard (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. He practiced every day this week, including a full workout Friday. So we'd bet on Leonard playing, especially after he played through a questionable tag last week after less practice participation. It also seems pretty clear that he's operating at less than 100%, though.

Buccaneers LB Devin White is questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts. He's dealing with a quad injury that kept him out of Wednesday's practice. White returned for limited workouts Thursday and Friday. HC Bruce Arians told reporters Friday that White will be a game-time decision. He said the same about DT Vita Vea, who put in limited practices all week with the knee injury that kept him out of Week 11.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry (neck) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Titans. We've heard no reason to believe that Henry is in danger of missing this one, but check back around 11:30 am ET on Sunday to make sure he's active.

Patriots RBs Damien Harris (neck) and Rhamondre Stevenson (knee) are listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. Harris got in 3 limited practices this week. Stevenson was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited in the final 2 practices of the week. We're expecting both guys to play on Sunday, but check back that morning when we get New England's inactives.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. He's fully expected to play after getting out of last week's game without a setback. Barkley carried just 6 times in that loss to the Bucs but caught all 6 of his targets. His role should grow in his 2nd game back from the ankle injury.
