Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday and is expected to play vs. the Lions today. Howard reportedly got some 1st-team work in practice this week and figures to mix in on early downs and potentially short-yardage situations. Howard isn't a fantasy option but could be a drain on RBs Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott.

The Titans have ruled LB Rashaan Evans (ankle) out for today's game against the Colts. Jayon Brown has yet to be activated from IR, so it'll be either Monty Rice or Nick Dzubnar filling in for Evans next to David Long. We'd only bet on Long seeing full playing time and thus making sense for your IDP lineup.

Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. "should be good to go today" vs. the Steelers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Beckham is dealing with an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, but he played through it in last Thursday night's win over Denver.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (hip) confirmed to ESPN that he'll play vs. the Patriots today, per Adam Schefter. "Not that there was much of a question," Schefter adds. That makes it sound as if Ekeler wasn't in any real danger of missing this one, despite sitting out practice on Thursday and Friday. He belongs in Week 8 fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Colts have "optimism" that WR T.Y. Hilton will play today against the Titans. He's officially questionable with the quad injury that kept him out last week, but HC Frank Reich said "I thought he looked good" at practice this week.

The Dolphins expect WR DeVante Parker to return to the lineup today against the Bills, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Parker has been out since Oct. 3, dealing with shoulder and hamstring injuries. His return could challenge the target shares of WR Jaylen Waddle and/or TE Mike Gesicki. The Buffalo matchup will be tough for the entire Miami offense, though the heavily favored Bills figure to drive up the Dolphins' passing volume.

The Seahawks expect RB Alex Collins (groin) to play today against the Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Officially questionable, Collins figures to share touches with Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer. We'd be on him leading that group, but Collins isn't a high-end fantasy option this week.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Buccaneers TE Rob Gronkowski is "considered a game-time decision" for today's game against the Saints. "One source described optimism" for Gronk's chances of playing, Rapoport adds.

Both ESPN and NFL Network report that Dak Prescott plans to work out before Sunday night's game against the Vikings to determine whether he can play. Adam Schefter adds, though, that "some within the organization believe" Cooper Rush will start the game after taking team reps in practice this week. Barring some further update ahead of the early games, waiting for Prescott will be a risky move for your fantasy football lineups today.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler posted a picture of his fantasy team to social media on Saturday night ... and Austin Ekeler was in the starting lineup. So he evidently expects to play vs. the Patriots on Sunday. We'll look for a more traditional report on his status tomorrow morning.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) was not activated from IR on Saturday and won't play vs. the Vikings on Sunday night. Gallup got back on the practice field this week, but NFL Network's Jane Slater reported that he's targeting a Week 9 return.

The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken tweets, "It would surprise many close to situation if Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (calf) starts Sunday vs. Vikings." On top of his calf issue, Prescott left the team on Friday following the death of his grandmother. He's back with the team now and traveled to Minnesota. But Gehlken notes that backup QB Cooper Rush saw the "most meaningful reps" of the practice week. At this point, we're leaning toward Prescott missing Sunday night's game. But we'll see if we get a more concrete update on Sunday morning.

Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens (triceps) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Giants. Without Hitchens in Week 7, playing time for the top 3 Chiefs LBs went: Nick Bolton 84%, Ben Niemann 74%, Willie Gay Jr. 68%. We'd expect a similar setup this week. CB Charvarius Ward (foot) is questionable. We'll update his status Monday evening, but you'd be better off looking elsewhere for a fantasy CB.

The Jets have activated LB Jarrad Davis off IR. He has been out since August with an ankle injury. We'll see what role Davis plays but would not trust him in IDP lineups immediately.

The Eagles have promoted RB Jordan Howard from practice squad. He'll be in the 3-man backfield mix for Sunday's game at Detroit. We're not betting on a big fantasy contribution from Howard, but Philly figures to continue spreading touches among multiple players. The team also officially placed RB Miles Sanders (ankle) on IR Saturday.

The Broncos are activating WR Jerry Jeudy from IR (ankle). NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that "he's on track to make his return" against Washington on Sunday. Jeudy will carry some risk for fantasy football lineups, but also intriguing upside. Check our WR rankings to see if he's worth a shot for your team.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott reportedly said he expected a decision following Saturday's practice on whether he'll start Sunday night against the Vikings. ESPN's Ed Werder, however, says 2 sources have called it a game-time decision. He quoted one as saying, "We are literally going to take it into tomorrow (night)." If it's truly a game-time decision for Sunday night, that would take the call beyond when most other QBs are starting their games. Waiting on Prescott will bring some risk this week.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. It sounds like the team expects him to play, though. ESPN's Jordan Ranaan tweeted Saturday: "Sterling Shepard is good. He's going to play barring a last minute setback." Plan to have Shepard available for fantasy usage this week.

Giants WR Kadarius Toney is questionable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. He returned to practice Friday and looked good in a brief video from Saturday's workout. We'd bet on him playing, but you should have an insurance option available if you plan to play him.

The Giants have ruled WR Kenny Golladay (knee) out for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. Golladay has yet to return to practice. We'll see whether he's ready for Week 9. A Week 10 bye, though, might factor into that decision.
