Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Panthers WR D.J. Moore "pulled his hamstring" in Sunday's game vs. the Falcons and is "day to day," HC Matt Rhule said. Hamstring injuries are always tricky, but it sounds like Moore's is minor. We'll keep a close eye on his practice participation this week, leading into Sunday's game vs. the Bills.
Bills QB Josh Allen is believed to be dealing with a "mild case" of turf toe, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Allen is scheduled for additional testing on Monday. He was able to play through the issue in Tampa Bay and didn't seem too worried about the injury after the loss. It sounds like Allen will be able to play vs. the Panthers this weekend, but we'll keep you updated.
Broncos RB Melvin Gordon sprained a thumb in Sunday's win over the Lions, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gordon was able to play through the issue yesterday and it "doesn’t figure to limit his playing time going forward," per Rapoport. We'll keep an eye on Gordon this week, but it sounds like we should expect Denver's committee backfield to continue in Sunday's game vs. the Bengals.
Washington QB Taylor Heinicke is scheduled for a Monday MRI on the knee he injured in the loss to Dallas. But the belief going into that test is that he'll be available for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. We should get another update on Heinicke later today.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers says his broken pinky toe "feels worse" coming away from Sunday night's win over the Bears. He'll reportedly have it checked out Monday, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that surgery might be an option. If they go that route, it's "believed" that Rodgers could have the operation to put a pin in the toe early in the week and still be able to play at Baltimore on Sunday. We'll watch for further updates on the situation. The toe certainly didn't appear to hinder Rodgers as he lit up the Bears for 341 yards and 4 TDs.
Seahawks CB D.J. Reed sustained a chest injury in Sunday's win over the Texans. We'll see whether the issue challenges his status for next Sunday's rematch with the Rams.
Niners LB Azeez Al-Shaair left Sunday's win over the Bengals with an elbow injury. He'll have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the damage, according to multiple reports.
Giants HC Joe Judge said Sunday that QB Daniel Jones will visit a neck specialist on Monday and get another scan of the injury that has cost him the past 2 games, FOX's Shannon Spake reports. We'll see how much longer the strain will keep the Giants' starting QB out.
Giants DE Leonard Williams left Sunday's loss to the Chargers with a right elbow injury. We'll see about his status heading into next Sunday's home date with Dallas.
Texans S Justin Reid left Sunday's loss to the Seahawks with a concussion, HC David Culley confirmed after the game. CB Desmond King left the game for the same reason, but Culley said afterward that King did not actually sustain a concussion. So he should be ready for next Sunday's game at Jacksonville. Reid will need to pass through the league protocol before returning.
Texans LB Kamu Grugier-Hill left Sunday's game on a cart after suffering a right knee injury in the loss to the Seahawks. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that early tests reveal a sprain, though, rather than a more severe injury as initially feared. That would likely mean further missed time for Grugier-Hill but isn't believed to be season-ending. We'll see about his official return timeline. LB Neville Hewitt saw elevated playing time in Grugier-Hill's absence and figures to start in his place going forward. The team, of course, waived LB Zach Cunningham, who is now with the Titans.
Lions MLB Alex Anzalone left Sunday's loss to the Broncos in the 1st half with an ankle injury. In his absence, Josh Woods led Detroit LBs in playing time at 94% and racked up a game-high 13 tackles. Rookie Derrick Barnes followed at 69%, with LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin inactive.
Broncos LB Kenny Young left Sunday's win over the Lions with a concussion. He'll need to pass through the league protocol before returning to action. DE Shelby Harris left the game with a knee injury. He had been questionable to play with the same issue.
Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson left Sunday's loss to the 49ers late in the 1st half with a back injury. We'll see about the severity of the injury.
A source tells insider Mary Kay Cabot that Browns RB Kareem Hunt could have returned from his ankle injury if needed in Sunday's win over the Ravens. That suggests that Hunt should be available for this coming Saturday's game vs. the Raiders. We'll track his practice participation this week.
Chargers HC Brandon Staley expects to get WR Keenan Allen back from the COVID list for Thursday night's game vs. the Chiefs, "barring a setback." We'll keep an eye on the situation. WRs Josh Palmer and Jalen Guyton played well in Allen's absence in the win over the Giants, but Allen's return would obviously be good news for QB Justin Herbert.
Bills QB Josh Allen will get an MRI on his left foot and ankle on Monday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports. Allen appeared to injure that foot late in Sunday's loss to the Bucs. He didn't miss any snaps but looked a bit hobbled. We should get an update on his status on Monday. "The Bills are hopeful but expect Mitchell Trubisky to get some reps in practice," Mortensen adds.
Browns RB Kareem Hunt injured his left ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. Baltimore and did not return. We'll look for an update on his status.
Bills WR Emmanuel Sanders injured his knee in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Bucs and was ruled out at halftime. His absence should turn WR Gabriel Davis into a near every-down player.
Chargers RB Austin Ekeler injured his left ankle in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Giants. He got it taped and was testing it on the sidelines. We'll see if Ekeler is able to re-enter, but the Chargers are up 30 to 7.
Update: Ekeler is officially questionable to return with an ankle injury.
