Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Jets RB Tevin Coleman was not activated from the COVID list and is out for today’s game vs. the Bucs. His absence is a boost to RB Michael Carter’s projected workload.

Texans RB David Johnson was not activated from the COVID list and will miss today’s game vs. the 49ers. Rex Burkhead should remain Houston’s clear lead back, with Royce Freeman the #2.

Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Panthers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that RB Tony Jones "should assume his snaps," but we'd expect RB Alvin Kamara to get more touches with Ingram out. Kamara racked up 27 carries and 5 targets when Ingram missed Week 14's game vs. the Jets.

Ravens QB Tyler Huntley remains the "likely" starter vs. the Rams today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) hasn't been ruled out yet and might test that ankle in pregame warmups. But all signs point to Huntley getting the nod. We'll get Baltimore's inactives around 11:30 am ET.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that there's "optimism" Cardinals RB James Conner (heel) will be able to play vs. the Cowboys today. Conner is listed as questionable after getting in just a limited practice on Friday, so he'd come with elevated risk in fantasy lineups if he ends up playing. We'll get Arizona's inactives around 3 pm ET.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) is not expected to play vs. the Texans today but adds that the team is "optimistic" that he'll be back for the regular-season finale vs. the Rams. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Garoppolo is expected to undergo surgery on the thumb after the season. We'll see if QB Trey Lance changes the equation with his performance today -- and then monitor Garoppolo's progress this coming week.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (knee) is expected to play vs. the Texans today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Mitchell has been out since Week 13 with a concussion and knee swelling but got in 3 limited practices this week. HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that he'll "play Elijah as much as he can handle," while adding that he'll monitor that knee. He's not the safest fantasy play today but has 20-carry upside.

Broncos RBs Javonte Williams (knee) and Melvin Gordon (thumb, hip) are expected to play vs. the Chargers today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Both guys were limited in practice all week but should be ready for their usual roles today.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Vikings TE Tyler Conklin (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Packers tonight. Conklin got in a full practice on Friday, so the hammy isn't much of a concern. QB Sean Mannion is definitely a concern, though, and makes Conklin a shaky TE2.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard (stinger) is expected to play vs. Washington today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Howard will join Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell in the backfield. He got in 2 limited practices this week and comes with elevated risk in fantasy lineups. But if the injury doesn't get in the way, Howard should split most of the backfield work with Scott.

Bucs WR Mike Evans is expected to play "in a limited capacity" vs. the Jets today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Evans hurt his hamstring in Week 15, missed Week 16 and then landed on the COVID list on Monday. Evans came off the COVID list on Friday and got in a limited practice that day. He's obviously a risky fantasy play today, although he's capable of doing some damage on just a handful of targets -- especially vs. the Jets.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is expected to play against the Jets today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Bucs initially had their doubts Brown would play, but he practiced Saturday and barring a setback Sunday, is expected to go," Schefter tweeted. It's safe to assume that Brown won't be at 100% today, adding some risk to his fantasy profile. But there's still big upside here vs. a bad Jets secondary.

Chargers K Dustin Hopkins was activated from the COVID list and will be available for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Steelers. He put in limited practices on Friday and Saturday. Hunt would be a shaky fantasy play coming off the high-ankle sprain if he does suit up. Throw in the Monday night kickoff, and Hunt should remain on fantasy benches. His return would put a dent in RB Nick Chubb's upside, though.

Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (concussion) isn't listed on the final injury report after putting in a full week of practice. He'll play vs. the Browns on Monday night but sits well outside the top 12 in our Week 17 TE Rankings.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson was not activated from the COVID list on Saturday and will miss Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Washington promoted RB Wendell Smallwood from the practice squad. He'll join Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams in the backfield.

The Patriots on Saturday activated LB Ja'Whaun Bentley and edge Matt Judon from the COVID list. That should make each available for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

The Saints have activated S Marcus Williams and C Eric McCoy from the COVID list, making them available for Sunday's game against the Panthers.

The Raiders have activated LB Denzel Perryman, LB Cory Littleton and CB Casey Hayward from the COVID list. Perryman is the only guy among the trio who carries IDP value. He'll belong in most lineups against what should be a run-heavy Colts offense.

The Panthers on Saturday activated DE Brian Burns and LB Shaq Thompson from the COVID list. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports both will play Sunday against the Saints.
