Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett said after Sunday's loss to the Jets that QB Russell Wilson is “trending in that direction” of playing next week against the Jaguars in London. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported this morning that Wilson has a partially torn hamstring, which tends to be a multi-week injury. The Broncos also have a Week 9 bye, which might play into the decision of whether to play Wilson vs. Jacksonville. We'll keep you updated on his status throughout this coming week.

Dolphins EDGE Emmanuel Ogbah (back) is inactive for tonight's game against the Steelers. CB Xavien Howard (groin) and DL Christian Wilkins (hand) are active.

A source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Browns TE David Njoku's ankle injury “isn’t serious" and that “he will be OK.” It's good news, especially after word that Njoku was in a walking boot and on crutches after the loss to Baltimore. We're still expecting Njoku to miss some time, but we should have a better idea about his timeline for return by tomorrow night.

The Jets believe WR Corey Davis suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday's win over the Broncos, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. HC Robert Saleh said afterwards that it's not a long-term injury. We should get a more concrete timeline for Davis on Monday. His absence will leave Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore (assuming he stays with the team) as the Jets' clear top-2 WRs. This has been an extremely run-heavy offense under QB Zach Wilson, but New York might throw it a bit more going forward without RB Breece Hall.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said after Sunday's win over the Broncos that RB Breece Hall is believed to have a torn ACL. We should get confirmation tomorrow, but it sounds like Hall's impressive rookie season is over. His absence will leave Michael Carter as New York's lead back -- and a likely RB2 in fantasy football.

Chargers WR Mike Williams injured his right ankle in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. He had to be helped off by a couple of trainers, putting hardly any weight on the leg. We'll update Williams' status when we know more, but this doesn't look good. The Chargers at least get a Week 8 bye.

Texans WR Nico Collins was knocked out of Sunday's loss to the Raiders with a groin injury. He caught 3 of 3 targets for 33 yards before exiting in the 2nd half. We should get an update on Collins' status tomorrow.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence threw for 310 yards and claimed a 1-yard TD on the ground in Sunday's loss to the Giants. It wasn't his most efficient passing day. Despite taking 0 sacks and avoiding turnovers, Lawrence completed just 22 of his 43 attempts (51.2%). His 3 rushing TDs over the past 2 games have saved otherwise lackluster fantasy outings. All 3 came from 2 yards out or closer, though, and Lawrence is averaging just 12 rushing yards per game. Lawrence did plenty of scoring on the ground near the goal line in college, but his recent rushing-TD binge looks more luck-driven than projectable factor.

Jaguars WRs Christian Kirk and Zay Jones tied for the team target lead with 10 apiece in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Kirk grabbed a team-high 7 catches for a team-high 96 yards. Jones caught 4 balls, tying TE Evan Engram and WR Marvin Jones Jr. for 2nd. No other Jaguar caught more than 1 pass in the game.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Steelers. He was limited in practice all week, adding some risk to his fantasy profile. But Waddle is available if you were waiting on him.

The Jaguars finally gave RB Travis Etienne control of the backfield for Sunday's loss to the Giants. He handled 14 of the team's 15 RB carries, racking up 114 yards and a TD. Etienne caught just 1 of his 5 targets for 5 yards. RB James Robinson, meanwhile, garnered 0 carries and failed to catch his sole target. JaMycal Hasty got the only other RB rush (and 0 targets). Barring a revelation of some injury for Robinson, Etienne is looking startable going forward.

Browns TE David Njoku was in a walking boot and on crutches after injuring his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, according to insider Mary Kay Cabot. We should learn more about his status on Monday, but fantasy owners should obviously be preparing for him to miss time.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott injured his right knee in the 2nd half of Sunday's win over the Lions but was able to play through it. “I think I’ve got a contusion on it. I still have to go back and talk to the trainers," Elliott said after the game. We'll keep an eye on this. RB Tony Pollard would obviously turn into a strong fantasy option if Elliott misses time.

Giants QB Daniel Jones ran for 107 yards and a TD in Sunday's win at Jacksonville. He added 202 yards and a TD passing and went without a turnover for the 4th time in 7 games. Jones will be worth a look in many fantasy football leagues over the next 3 games. The Giants will visit Seattle next week, with home dates vs. Houston and Detroit following a Week 9 bye.

Giants rookie WR Wan'Dale Robinson led the team in targets (8) and receptions (6) in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, tallying 50 yards in his 2nd game back from the knee injury. WR Darius Slayton checked in 2nd with 6 targets, catching 3 of them for a team-high 58 yards.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley ran for 110 yards on 24 carries in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, adding 4 catches for 25 yards on 4 targets. It was the 3rd 100-yard game for Barkley, who gets a soft Seattle defense on the road in Week 8.

Jets RB Breece Hall injured his knee in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He made it off the field under his own power but was carted to the locker room. Hall has been ruled out. We'll update his status when we know more.

5:28pm EDT 10/23/22

Jets WR Corey Davis is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Broncos with a knee injury. With WR Elijah Moore scratched, Davis' absence leaves New York with WRs Garrett Wilson, Braxton Berrios, Jeff Smith and Denzel Mims.

Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf injured his knee in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Chargers and was quickly ruled out. That often means a significant injury, but we'll update Metcalf's status when we know more.

With Amon-Ra St. Brown leaving early for a concussion, Lions WR Kalif Raymond led the team in targets (6), receptions (5) and receiving yards (75) in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. TEs Brock Wright and T.J. Hockenson followed, tying at 4 catches apiece. Wright beat Hockenson 57-48 in yards. Josh Reynolds managed just 1 catch for 8 yards on 2 targets, trailing WR Tom Kennedy in each category despite leading him in playing time and routes.
