Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier led the team's backfield in snaps in Sunday's win over the 49ers. But his 15-51 rushing line trailed RB Caleb Huntley's 16-59. Neither drew a target. Avery Williams claimed the only backfield target, catching it for 2 yards. He added 2 carries for 6. Allgeier remains the top play in a situation with a low ceiling and floor. The matchups get better in the coming weeks than the Bucs and 49ers the past 2 games.

Falcons QB Marcus Mariota went 13-of-14 passing for 129 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win over the 49ers. He also ran for 50 yards and a TD on 6 attempts. The San Francisco matchup looked worse ahead of time than any other opponent before the Week 14 bye. So Mariota is potentially usable at any point during that stretch.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is INACTIVE for tonight's game vs. the Eagles. It's a big surprise after he was left off the final injury report. TEs Jake Ferguson, Peyton Hendershot and Sean McKeon are active for Dallas tonight. Ferguson and Hendershot figure to split the pass-catching work.

7:00pm EDT 10/16/22

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (hip) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Eagles. He was held out of Friday’s practice and listed as questionable, but we never heard much concern about his status for this one. Lamb is safe to get into fantasy lineups if you were waiting on him.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (thumb) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Eagles. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Prescott “still must improve to be ready to practice" this coming Wednesday. It sounds like he’s not a lock to be ready for Week 7. QB Cooper Rush gets another start tonight.

Niners RB Jeff Wilson Jr. carried just 7 times for 25 yards and went catchless on 1 target in Sunday's 14-point loss to the Falcons. The game found Tyrion Davis-Price active, but he didn't draw a touch. Tevin Coleman carried 4 times for 3 yards.

Niners WR Brandon Aiyuk caught 8 balls for 83 yards and 2 TDs among 11 targets in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. Those were the only 2 TDs San Francisco scored. The 49ers won't normally attempt 41 passes, a number that QB Jimmy Garoppolo reached just once last season. But Aiyuk's 26.8% target share led the team. TE George Kittle and WR Deebo Samuel each drew 10 targets. Kittle posted an 8-83 receiving line; Samuel 7-79.

Niners QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 296 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs on 29-of-41 passing in Sunday's 28-14 loss to the Falcons. That's a pass-attempt total he matched just once all of last year, and it's more than 10 attempts higher than any previous appearance this season. A Week 7 meeting with the Chiefs could boost passing volume as well.

Panthers WR Robbie Anderson was sent to the locker room by interim HC Steve Wilks in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Rams. Anderson got into it with WRs coach Joe Dailey a bit earlier. Carolina would love to find a trade partner for Anderson, but don't be surprised if he's cut this week.

Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins didn't play in the 2nd half of Sunday's loss to the Giants because his knee "tightened up," HC John Harbaugh said afterward. Harbaugh added the MetLife Stadium turf might have been the culprit. Dobbins has been clearly limited in his 4 games since returning from last year's multi-ligament knee injury. We'll monitor his practice participation this coming week, but he'll be a risky Week 7 fantasy play. Baltimore's bye isn't until Week 10.

Bucs HC Todd Bowles said after Sunday's loss to the Steelers that TE Cameron Brate has a neck injury. He made no mention of a concussion, so it sounds like Brate at least escaped that. We should learn more about his status on Monday. Rookie Cade Otton will be in the low-end TE1 mix if Brate misses time.

Colts RB Deon Jackson was knocked out of Sunday's win over the Jaguars with a quad injury. He racked up 42 yards and a score on the ground plus 10 catches for 79 yards before exiting. Jackson's absence left Phillip Lindsay as Indianapolis' top RB. We'll see if Jackson, Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines are available for Week 7

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle suffered an apparent left shoulder injury last in Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. Stay tuned for an update.

Update: Waddle returned in the 4th quarter.

Bucs TE Cameron Brate was carted off the field in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Steelers. He missed last week's game in the concussion protocol. The Bucs say that Brate has movement in all his extremities, but he's obviously been ruled out for the rest of this one. We'll keep you updated on his situation.

Bills RB Zack Moss is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Chiefs. That leaves just Devin Singletary and James Cook in Buffalo's backfield. We'll see if the Bills load up Singletary as an every-down back or work Cooks in some more. We'd bet on the former.

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett exited for a concussion check in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bucs. We'll update his status when we know more. QB Mitchell Trubisky is in for Pittsburgh.

Update: Pickett has been ruled out with a concussion.

Saints TE Adam Trautman hurt his ankle in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. He tried to return in the 2nd half but was unable to stay on the field. He's officially questionable to return.

Packers WR Randall Cobb left in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game against the Jets with a left-ankle injury. He's officially questionable to return, but he came out of the injury tent in tears and then hopped on 1 foot to the cart to ride to the locker room. This seems potentially significant.

Rams DL Aaron Donald (foot) is active for today's game against the Panthers. He belongs in most IDP lineups.

2:40pm EDT 10/16/22

Rams TE Tyler Higbee (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Panthers. He got in just 2 limited practices this week and was listed as questionable, so there’s a bit more risk here than usual. But Higbee still sits inside the top 7 TEs across scoring formats in the Week 6 Rankings.
