Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Saints RB Jordan Mims is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Raiders. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who signed with New Orleans a couple of weeks ago, is active. Insider Nick Underhill expects a "real role" for Edwards-Helaire today. He's not a fantasy option, but expect the Saints to stick with a three-RB committee with Kendre Miller, Jamaal Williams, and Edwards-Helaire.

Jets WR Davante Adams (hip) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, but interim HC Jeff Ulbrich said Adams looked good. We’re not expecting the hip to be a major factor today.

Panthers WR Xavier Legette (hip, wrist) is active for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers. He’s in the WR4 mix in what should be a pass-heavy game from the Chuba Hubbard-less Panthers.

Saints WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. He’s the best bet for targets among New Orleans WRs with Chris Olave (concussion) still out. But Valdes-Scantling would be a desperation fantasy play with QB Spencer Rattler at the helm.

Giants WR Malik Nabers (toe) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. It’s a new injury for the rookie, who only got in a limited practice on Friday. Between the toe and QB issues, Nabers checks in as a low-end WR2 in the Week 17 Rankings.

Bills WR Curtis Samuel (rib) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jets. Buffalo will continue to roll with a WR rotation of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Amari Cooper, and Mack Hollins.

Insider Jordan Schultz reports that Bengals RB Chase Brown has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain after a Sunday MRI. "Brown is determined to try to play in Cincinnati’s must-win Week 18 game against Pittsburgh, but his availability will depend on how he progresses throughout the week," Schultz adds. High-ankle sprains typically cost RBs multiple weeks, so we'd consider Brown very iffy for Week 18. And he'd be operating at far less than 100% if he does suit up. We'll keep you posted on his status throughout the coming week.

Bengals RB Chase Brown (ankle) "has a chance" to play vs. the Steelers next weekend, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "This is not considered to be a major injury," Rapoport adds. We'll keep you updated on Brown's status throughout the coming week. His absence would leave Khalil Herbert as Cincinnati's lead back.

The Browns and QB Deshaun Watson agreed to a restructured contract that will have him back with the team in 2025. Watson did not give up any of his remaining $92 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, and didn't have his 2025 cap hit adjusted. But the new deal softens Watson's cap hits beyond next season, particularly starting in 2027. In other words, the Browns know they're stuck with Watson in 2025 and likely 2026 but are already putting in place a plan to eventually move on. Rapoport adds that Cleveland is expected to bring in competition for Watson this offseason, with QB Kirk Cousins a potential candidate. Cousins played under Browns HC Kevin Stefanski for two seasons in Minnesota. A Watson/Cousins QB room would not inspire much confidence.

The Colts are planning on sticking with QB Anthony Richardson as their starter in 2025, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Indy brass has been pleased with how he responded from the benching before Week 9 and how his attention to detail and preparation has increased as a result," Rapoport writes. The Colts have won three of five games since that benching, but Richardson's passing hasn't improved. He's completed just 51.2% of his passes at 6.5 yards per attempt with four TDs and five INTs over those five games. He's at an abysmal 47.7% completion rate on the season. Richardson's rushing ability gives him QB1 fantasy upside whenever he's on the field. But it's tough to imagine him lasting as an NFL starter if his passing doesn't improve. Richardson is at least expected to have a healthy 2025 offseason after spending last offseason rehabbing a shoulder injury.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson started Saturday’s blowout loss to the Chargers. But Antonio Gibson led the backfield with 12 carries for 63 yards. Meanwhile, Stevenson mustered only 2 rushes for 1 yard.

Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Vikings today, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Watson is listed as questionable but didn't practice all week. He should be on fantasy benches. Watson's absence would leave Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks as Green Bay's clear top three WRs.

Panthers WR Xavier Legette (hip, wrist) is expected to play vs. the Buccaneers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Legette went from a full practice on Wednesday to limited workouts on Thursday and Friday. The hip issue adds a bit of risk to Legette's Week 17 fantasy profile, but there's some upside here in what figures to be a pass-heavy game from Carolina.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (knee) "unlikely" to play vs. the Browns this afternoon. Waddle is listed as questionable after returning to limited practices on Thursday and Friday. He wouldn't have been a recommended fantasy play with QB Tyler Huntley anyway. Rookie Malik Washington should again operate as Miami's No. 2 WR today but isn't a viable fantasy option in any format.

In his first game since Week 12, Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins posted 76 yards and 1 TD on 19 attempts. With Gus Edwards sidelined, Dobbins led the team in snaps (42) and routes (17).

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (wrist) is expected to play vs. the Browns this afternoon, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hill has been battling this wrist issue for much of the season. The bigger issue today is QB Tua Tagovailoa's absence. QB Tyler Huntley is expected to draw the start for Miami. The Dolphins passed on just 43.6% of their offensive snaps in Huntley's three starts earlier this season. Hill came away from those games with 4-23-0, 6-69-0, and 1-8-0 receiving lines.

Giants WR Malik Nabers is expected to play despite being listed as Questionable with a toe injury according to Adam Schefter of ESPN

Despite being listed as Questionable with a hip injury, Jets WR Davanate Adams is expected to play against the Bills according to Adam Schefter of ESPN

49ers RB Isaac Guerendo (foot, hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 17 injury report. He was a full participant in Saturday's practice and seems ready to take back over as San Francisco's clear lead back in Monday night's game vs. the Lions. Guerendo checks in 17th in the Week 17 RB Rankings.

Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He was a full participant in practice all week, so we'll see if he makes it back for the regular-season finale vs. the Bucs next weekend.
