Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (concussion, finger) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Cowboys. QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) was limited in practice throughout the week but is off the final injury report and will get the start. That should mean a bit more passing volume for the Eagles, but a dip in efficiency. It projects as about a wash for WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Titans K Nick Folk (abdomen) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. Matthew Wright will kick for Tennessee this weekend but is not a recommended fantasy play.
Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) missed practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was in the same boat last week before playing against the Colts – although he finished with just 10 touches on a 39% snap rate. That was partly game-script related, but we don’t expect a huge workload for Pollard this weekend even if script works in his favor.
Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings. He didn’t practice all week and seems unlikely to play, but the team is at least keeping the door open. We should get an update on Watson’s status on Sunday morning. He’d be a risky fantasy start if he ends up active. If not, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks would be Green Bay’s clear top three WRs.
Bills WR Curtis Samuel (rib) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets. We’ll get Buffalo’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday, but hopefully Samuel is not in your Week 17 fantasy plans.
Giants WR Malik Nabers (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and called himself a gameday decision for this one. We’ll look for further updates on Nabers’ status and get New York’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. He'll obviously carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups if he ends up playing.
Giants RB Tyrone Tracy (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 17 injury report. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. So, while he’ll play vs. the Colts this weekend, it’s safe to assume he won’t be at 100%. It leaves him as a risky RB2 play for a New York offense implied for only 16.25 points.
Jets K Greg Zuerlein (knee) will return for Sunday's game vs. the Bills, the team announced. Zuerlein has been out since Week 8. He's not a viable Week 17 fantasy play with the Jets sporting an 18.25-point implied total.
Colts QB Anthony Richardson (back, foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants. He didn’t practice all week. “We’ll see how the next 48 hours goes,” HC Shane Steichen said Friday. Beat writer Kevin Bowen notes that, of the 26 Colts players to miss an entire week of practice this season, only DeForest Buckner ended up playing. It seems more likely than not that QB Joe Flacco is under center for Indianapolis this weekend. He’d be just a low-end QB2 option in fantasy lineups but would be a significant boost to WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs.
Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Buccaneers. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, and HC Dave Canales said Friday afternoon that he expects Hubbard to play. Barring a report on the knee limiting his workload, Hubbard remains a top-12 RB play this week.
Panthers WR Xavier Legette (hip, wrist) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Buccaneers. He went from a full practice on Wednesday to limited workouts on Thursday and Friday. But HC Dave Canales said Friday afternoon that he expects Legette to play against Tampa Bay.
Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 17 injury report. He was added on Thursday and limited in practice but was able to get in another limited practice on Friday. Thielen is evidently in no danger of missing this weekend’s game vs. the Buccaneers, and we should expect him to be ready for his usual role.
Browns WR Cedric Tillman (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins. He’s now missed five games in concussion protocol. Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore will remain Cleveland’s top two WRs this weekend, but they’re shaky fantasy bets with QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Browns TE David Njoku (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. That puts TE Jordan Akins back in the lead role, but he’s not a viable fantasy play with QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Falcons WR Drake London (knee) is not listed on the final Week 17 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, and should be ready for his usual role against the Commanders on Sunday night.
Buccaneers WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring, foot) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. He's been the team's primary slot receiver since WR Chris Godwin went down, averaging 4.6 targets per game over his last eight. Shepard's absence leaves a few extra targets for WRs Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan and RBs Bucky Irving and Rachaad White.
Buccaneers TE Cade Otton (knee) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. That should mean lead duties again for TE Payne Durham. He surprisingly ran a route on 88% of Bucs pass plays last week, catching five of seven targets for 29 yards. He'd be a desperation play in season-long lineups but is a viable salary-saver in DFS. Otton's absence could also push more targets to WRs Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan and RBs Bucky Irving and Rachaad White.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler hears that there's "optimism" about Bengals WR Tee Higgins' status for Saturday's game vs. the Broncos. Higgins is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice but "improved every day," according to Fowler. We'll get Cincinnati's inactives around 3 pm ET tomorrow. Barring reports of limited snaps, Higgins will be tough to keep out of fantasy lineups if he ends up active.
Bears QB Caleb Williams took seven sacks in Thursday night's loss to the Seahawks. It was his fourth game of the season with 7+ sacks. Williams is up to 67 sacks on the season -- the fourth most in NFL history. He finished Week 17 with just 122 passing yards, 0 TDs, and a game-ending INT on a desperation heave. Williams ran five times for 37 yards, but it wasn't enough to keep this from being a total fantasy dud.
The Cardinals expect RB James Conner (knee) to play vs. the Rams on Saturday night, according to Amazon's Albert Breer. RB Trey Benson (ankle) remains "up in the air," Breer added. Conner got in three limited practices this week and is listed as questionable. It's safe to assume he won't be at 100% tomorrow. And, with the Cardinals having nothing to play for, Conner's volume could be scaled back. We'll look for any reports on his expected workload. For now, consider him a risk/reward RB2 in Week 17 fantasy lineups.
