Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

NFL Network's Steve Wyche hears that Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (illness) will work out prior to today's game vs. the Titans. He'll then presumably decide whether he can play after missing practice on Thursday and Friday. We'll get Vegas' inactives around 11:30 am ET. Jacobs might be at risk of a limited workload if he suits up. If not, the Raiders would be down to RBs Zamir White, Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins "may not even be limited in workload" vs. the Patriots today -- his 1st game off since last August's multi-ligament knee injury. We're not totally buying the report, but it does add some upside to Dobbins if you're weighing him against similarly ranked options.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (knee) is not expected to play vs. the Ravens today. He got in just a limited practice on Friday this week, so this isn't a big surprise. Meyers' absence leaves behind 29% of New England's targets over the first 2 games. WR Nelson Agholor becomes a more interesting Week 3 fantasy play with Meyers out. DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne figure to operate as the #2 and #3 WRs.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen hears that the Chargers medical team has “encouraged” QB Justin Herbert to take the “long view” when deciding whether to play through his rib injury today. "The cartilage injury can last several weeks or several months," Mortensen adds. "Rib protector can’t help with rotation when Herbert twists and throws." It sure sounds like the team docs are hoping Herbert doesn't play vs. Jacksonville today.

Saints weapon Taysom Hill (rib) is not expected to play vs. the Panthers today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hill has tallied 7 carries and 1 target on 22 offensive snaps through 2 games, so his absence opens up a few touches in New Orleans.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Saints QB Jameis Winston (back, ankle) is expected to play vs. the Panthers today. Winston is reportedly dealing with 4 fractures in his back -- plus the ankle injury -- but looked fine in last week's loss to the Bucs. He remains a volatile QB2 play in fantasy football.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero confirms that Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle) will play vs. the Vikings today. Pelissero adds that Swift is expected to play a "bigger role" in that one after being limited to just 7 touches in Week 2. He belongs in fantasy lineups as a RB1 with upside in today's plus matchup.

Jets QB Zach Wilson is expected to be cleared by doctors next week to return from the meniscus tear and bone bruise in his knee, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "That puts him in line to play against the Steelers in Week 4," Rapoport adds. We'll track Wilson's practice participation this week and then see how he fares after what was reportedly an up-and-down offseason.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) "would like to try and play, but it's not certain he will." Allen was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday but sidelined on Friday. Between his hamstring injury and QB Justin Herbert's rib issue, Allen is a risky Week 3 fantasy option. We won't get the Chargers' inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ribs) is a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Jaguars. Per Schefter, Herbert will decide during pre-game warmups whether to take a pain-killing injection in his fractured rib cartilage. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds that Herbert "was looking doubtful as of Friday ... but he's pushing hard to go now." And NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Herbert "threw some yesterday and felt better but not all the way there." This is a 4:05 pm ET kickoff, so we might not know Herbert's status until a little after 2:30. If you're hoping to use him, you need to have another late-game QB rostered. QB Chase Daniel will get the start for the Chargers if Herbert can't play.

Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) is a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Packers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears the same and adds, "there is less optimism" about Jones' chances of playing than teammates Russell Gage and Breshad Perriman. We won't get Tampa Bay's inactives until around 3 pm ET today -- and Jones will be a high-risk fantasy option if he ends up playing.

Bucs WRs Russell Gage (hamstring) and Breshad Perriman (knee) are expected to play vs. the Packers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Gage didn't practice on Friday after limited workouts on Wednesday and Thursday, but it looks like that was a planned day off. Perriman got in 3 limited practices after playing through this knee issue last week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Bucs RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Packers today. Fournette was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. But he was in the same spot last week before playing 87% of the snaps and handling 24 carries and 4 targets. He's safe to get into Week 3 fantasy lineups.

Packers WR Randall Cobb (illness) is "likely" to play vs. the Bucs today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. But WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is not expected to play. With WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) on IR, Green Bay will roll out Allen Lazard, Cobb, Romeo Doubs and Juwann Winfree as its top 4 WRs. Look for another RB-centric game plan from the Packers today.

Bills WR Gabriel Davis (ankle) is still expected to play vs. the Dolphins today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That's seemingly been the expectation all along. Davis remained limited in practice all week, though, so it's safe to assume that he won't be at 100% today.

Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy is “on track to play” Sunday against the 49ers, though he wants to see how his rib and shoulder injuries feel in pregame warmups, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Questionable with an ankle sprain, Cardinals RB James Conner “will test it pre-game but is tracking to play,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. We’ll watch for more on Conner’s status. The late-afternoon kick still makes him a risky start, unless you have an insurance option also beyond the 1 p.m. ET games

The Saints expect RB Alvin Kamara (rib) to play Sunday against the Panthers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Officially questionable, Kamara took part in practice all 3 days. We’d plan to use him, assuming he is active

ESPN’s Todd Archer reports that “signs point toward” Cowboys WR Michael Gallup making his season debut Monday night against the Giants. “It won't be a full allotment of snaps but it could be enough to impact the game,” he says. We wouldn’t plan to put Gallup in fantasy football lineups yet

Giants EDGE players Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) are questionable for Monday night’s game against the Cowboys. Both told ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan that they expect to play in what would be the 1st game this year for each
