Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Patriots. He got in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday, but there’s been nothing to suggest that he’ll be limited today.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Steelers. He’s expected to wear a brace on that injured knee again today. But it wasn’t an issue last week, when Lawrence ran for a season-high 59 yards. Lawrence is safe to use as a low-end QB1.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. He was reportedly a game-time decision, so it’s safe to assume that he’ll be at less than 100% for this one. It leaves Samuel as a shaky WR4 play.

Saints WR Michael Thomas (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. He was added to the injury report late on Saturday, but there’s been no indication that he’ll be limited today.

11:31am EDT 10/29/23

Colts RB Zack Moss (elbow, heel) is active for today’s game vs. the Saints. He only got in a limited practice on Thursday and was reportedly a game-time decision, so it’s safe to assume that Moss will not be at 100% today. That could mean more work for RB Jonathan Taylor.

The Raiders have ruled LB Divine Deablo (ankle) out for Monday night's game against the Lions. That should make Luke Masterson a full-time (or near full) player in Deablo's absence. Masterson stepped in for 62% playing time last week in the game Deablo left early. You can now find Masterson in our Week 8 LB rankings.

Bears QB Justin Fields (thumb) has a chance to practice next week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. How that goes figures to impact whether Fields is able to play vs. the Saints. We'll continue to keep you updated on his progress.

Colts RB Zack Moss (heel, elbow) "plans to play" vs. the Saints today, "barring no setbacks in pregame warmups," according to insider Jordan Schultz. It sounds like Moss' heel injury is a bigger issue than the elbow. It's certainly possible that he cedes even more work to RB Jonathan Taylor today. Consider Moss a risky RB3 or flex play.

Saints WR Michael Thomas was added to the injury report on Saturday night with an illness and is now questionable for today's game vs. the Colts. We'll look for further updates on his status and will get New Orleans' inactives around 11:30 am ET.

NFL Network's James Palmer confirms that Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (knee) is expected to play vs. the Steelers today. Lawrence is listed as questionable, but there was never any doubt about his availability for this one after he played last week. "He feels better this week, but this isn't something that is going to improve overnight and will take some time," Palmer adds. Lawrence gets a Week 9 bye to heal up.

Chargers WR Josh Palmer (knee) and TE Gerald Everett (hip) are game-time decisions for tonight's meeting with the Bears, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "There is more optimism that Palmer can play than Everett," Rapoport adds. Everett should not be in Week 8 fantasy lineups. Palmer is a tricky situation with the late kickoff. We won't get Chargers inactives until a little before 7 pm ET. If you're hoping to use Palmer, you need an alternative rostered from either this game or Monday night's Raiders-Lions game.

Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) is expected to play in today's game vs. the Patriots, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Mostert only got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, but we never sensed any concern about his availability for this one. He should be ready for his usual role.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Browns later today. Lockett is listed as questionable but was a full participant in Friday's practice. We're expecting him to play his usual role today.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) is a game-time decision for today's tilt with the Eagles, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "There is optimism about his status, but the team wants to see him work out," Rapoport adds. We'll get Washington's inactives around 11:30 am ET. Samuel will obviously carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups if he suits up.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is not expected to land on IR. That move likely would have happened on Saturday if it was coming. The Browns "will continue to be cautious" with Watson, who's considered week-to-week, per Schefter. But a source tells him, "unlikely that it’s longer than two weeks" for Watson's return.

Browns RB Jerome Ford (ankle) "wants and intends" to play vs. the Seahawks today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "But Cleveland wants to see how he looks and feels in pre-game warmups before allowing it," Schefter adds. Ford returned to a limited practice on Friday after suffering what Schefter reported as a low-grade high-ankle sprain just last week. It's safe to assume that he'll be at less than 100% if he suits up. We'd try to avoid using Ford in Week 8 fantasy lineups. His presence would be a ding to RB Kareem Hunt's Week 8 outlook, although he'd still be in the RB3 mix. We won't get Cleveland's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET.

Texans WR Robert Woods is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with his foot injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Woods is out for today's game vs. the Panthers, and it sounds like he'll also miss Week 9. His absence can't be bad news for WRs Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

Colts RB Zack Moss "wants to see how his foot feels once he puts pressure on it in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can play vs. the Saints" today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Moss is officially questionable with heel and elbow injuries after only getting in a limited practice on Thursday. It's safe to assume he'll be at less than 100% if he does end up active later today.

The Bears have downgraded S Jaquan Brisker (illness) to out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler confirms that Titans QB Will Levis is expected to start and get the majority of the snaps vs. the Falcons on Sunday. "But [QB Malik] Willis will have packages and heavy involvement in the game plan," Fowler adds. "Could end up being roughly 75-25 as far as play time." We don't envision this going well for Tennessee. You should obviously avoid Titans QBs in all fantasy formats.
