Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

11:53am EDT 10/22/23

Buccaneers DT Vita Vea (foot) is active for today's game against the Falcons.

Bears S Jaquan Brisker (groin) is active for today's game against the Raiders. You'll still find him low in our Week 7 DB rankings.

11:47am EDT 10/22/23

Patriots S Kyle Dugger (foot) and CB Jonathan Jones (knee) are active for today's game against the Bills.

Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He put in three limited practices this week but still hasn’t been cleared for contact. QB Tyrod Taylor gets another start today.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. Between the ankle injury and a matchup against the No. 5 TE defense, Henry is not a recommended Week 7 fantasy starter.

Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bills. WR Demario Douglas (concussion) is active but shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups.

Colts WR Alec Pierce (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Browns. He’s averaging just 3.7 targets, 1.8 catches, and 25 yards per game so far this season.

Lions RB Craig Reynolds (hamstring, toe) is active for today’s game vs. the Ravens. He figures to serve as the No. 2 RB behind Jahmyr Gibbs. Last time RB David Montgomery was out and Gibbs played, Reynolds finished with just four carries and zero targets.

11:31am EDT 10/22/23

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. He was reportedly a game-time decision, so it’s safe to assume that he’ll be playing at less than 100% today. Consider Hunt a risky RB3 or flex play.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, taking the first-team reps and reportedly throwing with good zip. There’s still elevated risk here as Watson returns from a throwing shoulder injury. But his return is good news for Cleveland’s offense.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets, "All signs point to 49ers’ RB Christian McCaffrey playing Monday night at Minnesota ... McCaffrey returned to practice in a limited way Saturday and said after that he feels “great.” Barring another update between now and the 1 pm ET kickoffs, we'd have McCaffrey starting in the vast majority of fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) "has a shot" to play vs. the Vikings on Monday night. CMC got in a limited practice on Saturday and is officially questionable. There have been no solid reports on his status. Hopefully we'll get one before the 1 pm ET games kick off.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Vikings. Greenlaw managed limited practices Friday and Saturday after sitting out Thursday. He missed the Week 6 loss to the Browns. The late kickoff makes it tough to wait on Greenlaw, and we've knocked him down the Week 7 LB rankings to present more options who are playing earlier. If you'd like to -- or need to -- wait for Greenlaw, try to secure LB Oren Burks as insurance. He played every snap against the Browns last week.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (knee) is most likely to make his 2023 debut in Week 10, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, with Week 9 an outside possibility. Murray practiced this week for the first time since tearing his ACL last December. "The early returns have been very positive," per Rapoport. "The team's only charge is to put him out there when he's physically and mentally ready to play, and there is no rush." We'll keep you updated on Murray's progress. He's worth stashing now if you need help at QB.

Patriots WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is not expected to play vs. the Bills today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Smith-Schuster suffered his fifth documented concussion back in Week 5 and still hasn't been cleared. WR Demario Douglas, who was also concussed in Week 5, is expected to play today, according to Rapoport. WR Kendrick Bourne is the only viable fantasy play in New England's WR corps.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry (ankle) "should play" vs. the Bills today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Henry only got in a limited practice on Friday, so it's safe to assume that he won't be at 100% today. He's not a recommended Week 7 fantasy start.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Rams RBs Royce Freeman and Darrell Henderson are expected to lead the backfield vs. the Steelers today. Those two will get "the majority of the workload," a source tells Schefter, while rookie RB Zach Evans serves as the No. 3 RB. RB Myles Gaskin will be inactive today, per Schefter, but is expected to play next week. This backfield will continue to evolve while RB Kyren Williams recovers from his ankle injury. And Schefter adds that no Rams RB will "dominate the workload the way Williams did before he suffered a high ankle sprain ... and that might be the case even once Williams returns as the team aims to preserve his longevity." For Week 7, Freeman and Henderson are just desperation fantasy plays in what figures to be a pass-heavy game plan from Los Angeles. Evans is not useable.

Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (hip, ribs) remains a game-time decision for this afternoon's tilt with the Cardinals, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "There are more concerns about his availability than there were the past two weeks," Schefter adds. We won't get Seattle's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET, making this a tricky situation for Metcalf owners. You need to have a late-game alternative rostered if you're hoping to start Metcalf. He'll obviously carry elevated risk if he does end up playing.

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (hamstring) is not expected to play vs. the Cardinals today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. No surprise after the rookie missed practice all week. We'll see if Charbonnet can make it back for Week 8. His absence leaves DeeJay Dallas as Seattle's No. 2 RB -- and Ken Walker in a true workhorse role.

Lions RB Craig Reynolds (hamstring, toe) is expected to play vs. the Ravens today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Reynolds should operate as Detroit's No. 2 RB behind rookie Jahmyr Gibbs. But between the injuries and a difficult matchup, Reynolds is a weak RB3 option.
