Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Vikings WR K.J. Osborn ran even with WR Jordan Addison in Sunday's win over the Bears, the first game since WR Justin Jefferson's hamstring injury. Osborn led the position by four total snaps, tying Addison for the team lead with 33 routes and 5 targets. Osborn beat Addison in receptions (4-3) and receiving yards (48-28). Neither player, of course, posted an actually impressive line. And Minnesota totaled just 181 yards passing; 227 total. Addison remains the higher-ceiling fantasy option between the WRs. Neither looks attractive for a Week 7 home date with the 49ers.

Vikings RB Alexander Mattison controlled the backfield work in Sunday's win over the Bears. He handled 18 of 19 Minnesota RB carries and drew 7 of 8 RB targets. Mattison gained just 44 yards on the ground, though, averaging 2.4 yards per rush. His 7 targets ranked second on the team. Mattison caught four for 28 yards. Cam Akers logged just 1 carry for 8 yards and caught his lone target for 7 more. Akers had been creeping in on Mattison's playing time before this week, so that's a positive development for Mattison managers. A Week 7 matchup with the 49ers makes the whole backfield worth trying to avoid, though.

Bears HC Matt Eberflus said X-rays on QB Justin Fields’ right hand came back clean. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday. We should have a better idea of Fields' status going forward by Monday night. QB Tyson Bagent replaced Fields today, finishing 10-of-14 for 83 yards, 0 TDs, and one INT. He added two carries for four yards and a TD.

X-rays on 49ers WR Deebo Samuel's shoulder came back clean, according to Pro Football Talk. Samuel is still scheduled for an MRI. We should learn more about his injury over the next 24 hours.

TE T.J. Hockenson led the Vikings in targets (8), receptions (6), and receiving yards (50) in Sunday's win over the Bears. That last number points to how limited the Minnesota offense was for the game, throwing for just 181 yards and running for only 46 more. It did, at least, mark Hockenson's fourth game of 6+ receptions this season and fifth with at least 8 targets. He gets a tough matchup with the 49ers in Week 7 but remains a weekly fantasy starter.

Vikings WR Jordan Addison managed just 3 receptions for 28 yards on 5 targets in the first full game since WR Justin Jefferson's hamstring injury. He saved his fantasy line by snaring Kirk Cousins' only TD pass from 10 yards out in the second quarter. Addison's 5 targets tied for just third on the team, trailing TE T.J. Hockenson and RB Alexander Mattison. A matchup with San Francisco in Week 7 looks tougher for everyone in the Minnesota offense, though it hasn't been especially tough for WRs on the year (slightly positive entering Week 6, according to our adjusted fantasy points allowed).

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker totaled 89 yards and 1 score in Week 6. Coming out of a bye, the second-year back out-carried Zach Charbonnet 19-2 while holding the edge in targets (3 to 2). Walker scored on the opening drive but was held in check for most of the day, finishing with just 3.3 yards per carry. Seattle heads home to face the Cardinals in Week 7.

Vikings QB Kirk Cousins threw for just 181 yards and 1 TD in the first game since losing WR Justin Jefferson to a hamstring injury. He took just 2 sacks and avoided throwing any INTs against the Bears. But Cousins did fumble twice, losing one of them. Rain didn't turn out to be an issue, and the wind didn't appear strong enough to be the whole problem here. Throw in how poorly the Chicago defense had played through the first five weeks, and this marks a worrisome performance -- especially with the 49ers coming to town in Week 7. Cousins already sits well outside the top 12 in our Week 7 QB rankings.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence injured his left knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Colts. It didn't look serious, but Lawrence has a quick turnaround for Thursday night's game vs. the Saints. We'll keep you updated on his status. QB C.J. Beathard is Jacksonville's backup.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Browns with an oblique injury. We'll update his status when we know more. McCaffrey's absence leaves San Francisco's backfield to Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason.

Update: McCaffrey has returned to the game.

Update: McCaffrey carried once and then left the game, jogging back to the locker room.

Update: McCaffrey has been ruled out.

Buccaneers Edge Shaq Barrett (illness) is active for today's game against the Lions. He's a lower-level IDP option, though.

Raiders CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder) is active for today's game against the Patriots.

Patriots DB Kyle Dugger (foot), CB Jonathan Jones (ankle), and DT Davon Godchaux, DT, New England Patriots (ankle) are active for today's game against the Raiders. Dugger should be the only one considered for IDP lineups in most cases.

Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf hurt his hip in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. He headed back to the locker room and is officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.

Update: Metcalf returned to the game.

The Chargers added WR Joshua Palmer to the injury report as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Cowboys with a groin issue. We don't have any other details right now, but you might want to replace Palmer in your starting lineup if you have another viable option.

Rams LB Ernest Jones (knee) is active for today's game against the Cardinals. Use him as planned in your IDP lineups.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill pulled up with a left hamstring issue in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. It's unclear if he's injured or cramping. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: The Dolphins say Hill is questionable to return due to cramps. Good news.

Update: Tyreek Hill has returned to the game.

Lions WR Sam LaPorta (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. He was reportedly a game-time decision after hurting his calf in practice this week. There’s certainly elevated risk with LaPorta this week, but get him in your starting lineup if you were waiting on him.

Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He should be ready for his usual role in this potential high-scoring contest.

Commanders Edge Montez Sweat left in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Falcons after hurting his left thumb. He's questionable to return.
