Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Broncos LB Josey Jewell is off the final injury report for Week 8. He missed the past 2 games after leaving Week 5 early with a knee injury. Jewell remained limited the 1st 2 practices this week but put in a full Friday and carries no game designation. He's fine as a low-LB2 or LB3 for fantasy football use this week and has moved up our Week 8 IDP rankings. LB Alex Singleton does not belong in IDP lineups with Jewell back. Denver also ruled EDGE Baron Browning (hip) out vs. the Jaguars.

Cowboys LB Micah Parsons (shoulder) and S Malik Hooker (hamstring) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears. HC Mike McCarthy said Friday he doesn't have "high concern" that Parsons will miss the game, so we should be good to use him in a high-upside sack matchup. Hooker didn't practice all week and shouldn't be in IDP lineups even if he's active.

Panthers LB Frankie Luvu (shoulder) and CB Jaycee Horn (ribs) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Horn's status is not surprising after he missed the past 2 games. A full Friday practice for him makes him appear likely to return, but he's a low-level IDP option against an Atlanta offense allergic to passing. Luvu entered last week's game questionable and played a season-low 68% of the snaps. He practiced every day this week, sandwiching a full Thursday workout between 2 limited days. Luvu will carry some risk for IDP lineups if he plays this week. He's sitting in low-RB3 territory in our Week 8 IDP rankings.

The Falcons have ruled CB A.J. Terrell (hamstring) and S Jaylinn Hawkins (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Already down CB Casey Hayward, the Atlanta secondary presents an even friendlier matchup to Carolina QB P.J. Walker and WR D.J. Moore.

Colts CB Kenny Moore is questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders after being added to Friday's injury report with a finger issue. We'll check his status Sunday. The team ruled EDGE Kwity Paye (ankle) out for the game.

Colts LB Shaquille Leonard will play Sunday against the Commanders, though he's not yet going full time. "He’s ahead of schedule, but not quite there yet so he will be on a pitch count," HC Frank Reich told the Indianapolis Star. "We feel he is the best defensive player in the league. Our goal is to get him out there for 100 percent of the snaps as soon as we can, but we’re just not quite there yet." Leonard is coming off surgery for a broken nose, as well as a concussion. That followed a slow start to the year coming off June back surgery. It's tough to know just how many snaps Leonard will play, but we've boosted Zaire Franklin to full playing time and moved him way up the Week 8 IDP rankings. He played 100% in the 1 game that has included Leonard so far this year (Week 4).

NFL Network's Mike Giardi reports that Patriots QB Mac Jones is dealing with numbness in the toes on his left foot as he continues to recover from his high-ankle sprain. It didn't impact Jones' on-field prep for the Jets this week, per Giardi, but it's safe to say that Jones still isn't at 100%. He shouldn't be in Week 8 fantasy lineups.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. He leaves behind 7.7 targets per game, which should mostly be absorbed by WR Brandon Aiyuk, TE George Kittle and RB Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco could also lean on the running game more with Samuel out. WR Jauan Jennings (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

The Bengals will not be placing WR Ja'Marr Chase on IR with his hip injury, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Schultz reports that Chase is dealing with a hairline hip fracture and torn labrum. He doesn't give a timetable for Chase's return, but no IR would mean the Bengals expect him back before Week 13. Chase is worth keeping stashed in all fantasy leagues.

Cardinals K Matt Prater (hip) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings. We’ll see if he can make it back for that one after missing the past 3 weeks, but we’d look elsewhere for Week 8 fantasy lineups.

Texans WR Brandin Cooks (wrist) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. He was added to the injury report on Friday but put in a full practice. We'll look for further updates on Cooks' status, but he can stay penciled into Week 8 fantasy lineups for now.

The Texans list WR Nico Collins (groin) as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. He didn’t practice all week, though, and is not expected to play. That’ll leave Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore as Houston’s #2 and #3 WRs – and should mean more targets for WR Brandin Cooks.

Giants TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. The rookie is expected to miss multiple weeks after undergoing surgery this week to repair a fractured eye socket and septum. New York is down to Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson at TE.

Steelers K Chris Boswell (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. With Pittsburgh sporting a 16.5-point implied total, Boswell should not be in your Week 8 fantasy plans.

Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. He tweaked that knee again last weekend but was able to return to that game. We’re expecting Schultz to play on Sunday, but he won’t be at 100%.

Cowboys WR Noah Brown (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. He didn’t practice all week, so he’ll obviously be at less than 100% if he suits up this weekend. Brown should not be in your Week 8 fantasy plans. His absence would leave a few extra targets for WRs CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. He didn’t practice all week and looks likely to sit through Dallas’ upcoming Week 9 bye. Zeke’s absence should land RB Tony Pollard in a workhorse role. It’ll be RBs Qadree Ollison and Malik Davis behind him.

Packers WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) is out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Bills. That takes away the top option in a struggling passing game. Romeo Doubs and Sammy Watkins, who was limited in practice all week with a hamstring but isn’t listed on the final injury report, figure to serve as QB Aaron Rodgers’ top 2 WRs. WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is listed as questionable after 3 limited practices.

Saints TEs Juwan Johnson (hamstring) and Adam Trautman (ankle) are listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders. Johnson was added to Thursday's injury report and then limited in Friday's practice. Trautman returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days. With both guys at less than 100%, try to avoid this situation in Week 8 fantasy lineups.

Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He was a full-go in Friday’s practice and should be ready for his usual role on Sunday vs. Miami.
