Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Dolphins. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, though, so he appears on track to be cleared by Sunday. Pencil St. Brown into fantasy lineups for now, but check back around 11:30 am ET on Sunday to make sure he’s active. WR Josh Reynolds (knee) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He’ll return for Sunday’s game vs. the Dolphins and should be ready for a full workload.

Broncos QB Russell Wilson (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, and will start Sunday morning’s game vs. Jaguars in London. Wilson is only an option in 2-QB and Superflex leagues.

Saints WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. HC Dennis Allen said Friday that there's no timetable for their returns, but that he does expect both guys to play again this season. WR Chris Olave should continue to dominate targets this weekend, with Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith as New Orleans' #2 and #3 WRs.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Friday that WR Van Jefferson (knee) will play vs. the 49ers this weekend and have his "normal workload," per ESPN's Sarah Barshop. McVay added that Jefferson will be monitored throughout the game. A "normal workload" for Jefferson last year meant an 80% snap rate and 14.7% target share. It'd be a little surprising if Jefferson did that much in his 1st game since early-August knee surgery, but it sounds like McVay expects him to contribute. We'd try not to use Jefferson in season-long fantasy lineups this week, but he's an intriguing DFS flier.

Rams RB Cam Akers will not play vs. the 49ers this weekend, HC Sean McVay confirmed Friday. We'll see if Akers gets moved before Tuesday's trade deadline. Darrell Henderson figures to operate as Los Angeles' lead back again on Sunday.

Cardinals RB James Conner (ribs) is out for this weekend's game vs. the Vikings. He got in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but didn't practice on Friday, so this looks like a setback. RB Darrel Williams (knee) will be a game-time decision, HC Kliff Kingsbury said. But it'll be Eno Benjamin again leading the backfield against Minnesota's 9th-ranked RB defense. Consider Benjamin a RB2 -- and a safer fantasy bet if Williams remains out.

Giants WR Kenny Golladay (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton and Marcus Johnson should again operate as New York’s top 3 WRs in that one.

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. Texans. He only got in a limited practice on Thursday and seems legitimately iffy for Sunday. If he can't go, Tennessee would turn to rookie QB Malik Willis. It figures to be a run-heavy game plan from the Titans regardless of who's under center -- but we'd likely see an extreme run lean if it's Willis.

Colts QB Matt Ryan (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Commanders. HC Frank Reich said earlier this week that the team planned on turning to QB Sam Ehlinger regardless of Ryan’s health. QB Nick Foles will be the backup this weekend.

Jets WR Corey Davis (knee) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. HC Robert Saleh confirmed Friday that WR Elijah Moore will return for that one and join Garrett Wilson as New York's top 2 WRs. The Jets might throw it a bit more with RB Breece Hall out, but neither Wilson nor Moore is an attractive Week 8 fantasy play against New England's 10th-ranked WR defense.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. We’d try not to use him in Week 8 fantasy lineups at less than 100%. TE Cole Turner (concussion) has been ruled out.

Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. The rookie remained sidelined for practice all week. WR Dyami Brown (groin) is listed as questionable but obviously shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans.

Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (ankle) is out for this weekend's game vs. Atlanta. So much for that ankle injury being minor. We'll see if Hubbard can make it back for Week 9, but his absence on Sunday leaves D'Onta Foreman as Carolina's lead back. Interim HC Steve Wilks said Friday that undrafted rookie RB Raheem Blackshear will have an increased role this week, but we're expecting Foreman to handle most of the backfield work.

The Buccaneers fear EDGE Shaq Barrett tore his left Achilles' tendon in Thursday night's loss to the Ravens. We'll watch for confirmation, but that generally follows these reports. The injury would obviously end Barrett's season. It also might challenge his readiness for the start of next year. Barrett turns 30 in November and has 2 years remaining on his contract.

Update: MRI confirmed the Achilles' tear.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf is "probably more week-to-week than day-to-day" with the knee he injured against the Chargers last Sunday. Rapoport adds that he'd be "a little surprised" if Metcalf winds up playing this Sunday against the Giants. His absence would put Marquise Goodwin in the starting lineup, coming off a 2-TD game against L.A.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys don't expect RB Ezekiel Elliott to play Sunday against the Bears. He took a shot directly to his right knee in last Sunday's win over the Lions and has not practiced this week. If he's out, Tony Pollard becomes 1 of the week's most attractive fantasy football plays at the position.

Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett said Friday morning that QB Russell Wilson (hamstring) will start Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars, barring a setback between now and then. Wilson, of course, had been struggling even before this hamstring injury. He's just a QB2 in Week 8 fantasy lineups, but we'd still consider him a tangible upgrade over QB Brett Rypien.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after the Thursday night win over the Bucs that WR Rashod Bateman "tweaked" his previous left foot injury. Harbaugh added that it's "not serious." Still, don't be surprised if Bateman is held out of Week 9, with a Week 10 bye looming.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after Thursday night's win over the Bucs that TE Mark Andrews' shoulder injury "is not a serious, long-term injury." We'll look for further updates on his status. It's worth noting that Baltimore has a Week 10 bye.
