Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. We’d try not to use him in Week 8 fantasy lineups at less than 100%. TE Cole Turner (concussion) has been ruled out.

Commanders WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. The rookie remained sidelined for practice all week. WR Dyami Brown (groin) is listed as questionable but obviously shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans.

Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (ankle) is out for this weekend's game vs. Atlanta. So much for that ankle injury being minor. We'll see if Hubbard can make it back for Week 9, but his absence on Sunday leaves D'Onta Foreman as Carolina's lead back. Interim HC Steve Wilks said Friday that undrafted rookie RB Raheem Blackshear will have an increased role this week, but we're expecting Foreman to handle most of the backfield work.

The Buccaneers fear EDGE Shaq Barrett tore his left Achilles' tendon in Thursday night's loss to the Ravens. We'll watch for confirmation, but that generally follows these reports. The injury would obviously end Barrett's season. It also might challenge his readiness for the start of next year. Barrett turns 30 in November and has 2 years remaining on his contract.

Update: MRI confirmed the Achilles' tear.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf is "probably more week-to-week than day-to-day" with the knee he injured against the Chargers last Sunday. Rapoport adds that he'd be "a little surprised" if Metcalf winds up playing this Sunday against the Giants. His absence would put Marquise Goodwin in the starting lineup, coming off a 2-TD game against L.A.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Cowboys don't expect RB Ezekiel Elliott to play Sunday against the Bears. He took a shot directly to his right knee in last Sunday's win over the Lions and has not practiced this week. If he's out, Tony Pollard becomes 1 of the week's most attractive fantasy football plays at the position.

Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett said Friday morning that QB Russell Wilson (hamstring) will start Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars, barring a setback between now and then. Wilson, of course, had been struggling even before this hamstring injury. He's just a QB2 in Week 8 fantasy lineups, but we'd still consider him a tangible upgrade over QB Brett Rypien.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after the Thursday night win over the Bucs that WR Rashod Bateman "tweaked" his previous left foot injury. Harbaugh added that it's "not serious." Still, don't be surprised if Bateman is held out of Week 9, with a Week 10 bye looming.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said after Thursday night's win over the Bucs that TE Mark Andrews' shoulder injury "is not a serious, long-term injury." We'll look for further updates on his status. It's worth noting that Baltimore has a Week 10 bye.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards suffered a hamstring injury in the 4th quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Bucs. He's officially questionable to return, but we'd be surprised if he gets back out there. Edwards' absence leaves Baltimore with RBs Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman has been ruled out of Thursday night's game vs. the Bucs with a foot injury. It's presumably the same issue that cost him Weeks 5 and 6. Baltimore has a Week 10 bye, so we wouldn't be surprised if Bateman is held out of Weeks 9's game vs. the Saints.

Buccaneers EDGE Shaq Barrett left Thursday night's game against the Ravens with an ankle injury, rode to the locker room on a cart and was quickly ruled out. That doesn't bode well for the longer-term prognosis. We'll watch for word on a specific diagnosis and return timeline.

Packers WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) conceded Thursday that he's unlikely to play vs. the Bills on Sunday night. Lazard told reporters that he heard "a snap, crackle and pop" in his shoulder near the end of the 3rd quarter of last week's game -- but that he doesn't expect to be out long. His absence this weekend figures to leave Sammy Watkins and Romeo Doubs as Green Bay's top 2 WRs. We'll see if WR Christian Watson can make it back from his hamstring injury.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero hears that a "bad flu" has kept Adams out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday. "There's optimism he’ll be over it and ready to go Sunday vs. the Saints," Pelissero adds. Adams can stay penciled into Week 8 fantasy lineups for now, but we'll keep a close eye on him over the next few days.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews is questionable to return to Thursday night's game vs. the Bucs with a shoulder injury. He entered this one with a bad knee. We'll update Andrews' status when we know more.

Update: Andrews has been ruled out for the game.

Packers WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) missed practice again on Thursday. He's looking unlikely to play vs. the Bills on Sunday night, but we'll see if Lazard is able to get back on the field tomorrow. WRs Sammy Watkins (hamstring) and Christian Watson (hamstring) remained limited on Thursday.

Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) was upgraded to full participation on Thursday. It looks like the hamstring troubles are behind him. Lockett should be busy vs. the Giants this weekend with WR D.K. Metcalf (knee) expected to be out.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Rams. We'll see if Samuel practices Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report. WR Jauan Jennings (hamstring) also missed practice again on Thursday.

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We're tentatively expecting him to start this weekend's game vs. the Texans, but we'll see how he's listed on the final injury report on Friday afternoon.

Saints TE Juwan Johnson was added to Thursday's injury report with a hamstring and limited in practice. So his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders is now in question. Check back tomorrow for another update on Johnson. TE Adam Trautman (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday.
