Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bears WR Darnell Mooney (groin) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Steelers. Mooney popped up on the injury report Friday, participating on a limited basis the final 2 days. We'll see about his status Monday evening. Mooney won't be worth waiting for in most fantasy football lineups.

Steelers TE Eric Ebron (ankle) is out for Monday night's game against the Bears. That can only help the playing time and usage for rookie TE Pat Freiermuth, who has drawn 7 targets in each of Pittsburgh's past 2 games.

The Browns and WR Odell Beckham Jr. have agreed to terms that will allow him to hit waivers on Monday. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Browns are shaving the final 2 years off his contract. If Beckham clears waivers without being claimed, he'd become a free agent at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday afternoon.

The Cowboys have placed TE Blake Jarwin on IR with his hip injury. That means he'll miss at least the next 3 games, which can only help the target outlook for TE Dalton Schultz. Sean McKeon and Jeremy Sprinkle sit behind him on the depth chart.

Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) has been activated from IR, putting him on track to play vs. the Chiefs on Sunday. He's not a bankable fantasy option with QB Jordan Love under center but could emerge as an asset when QB Aaron Rodgers returns.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said Saturday that there's a "really good chance" RB David Montgomery plays against the Steelers on Monday night. Montgomery returned to practice on Thursday after going down with a sprained knee back in Week 4. RB Khalil Herbert has played very well in relief, but Nagy said earlier this week that a healthy Montgomery remains the lead back. What's unclear is whether Montgomery is ready to take back that lead role on Monday night. Your best bet is to avoid this backfield in Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Giants WR Kenny Golladay (knee) is expected to play vs. the Raiders on Sunday, according to The Athletic's Dan Duggan. Golladay has been out since Week 5 and got in just 2 limited practices this week, so he'd be a risky fantasy play.

The Texans on Saturday placed LB Christian Kirksey on IR, following surgery on his fractured thumb. He'll miss the next 3 games but should be back after that. Neville Hewitt looks like his replacement, though we'll see exactly how the playing time gets split among the Houston LBs against Miami this week. This will be the 1st game Kirksey has missed this year.

The Texans have officially activated QB Tyrod Taylor from IR, so he's ready to start Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Taylor has been out with a hamstring injury since leaving the Week 2 loss to Cleveland.

Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney (ankle, knee) and CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Clowney played through a questionable tag for the same issues last week. Ward put in limited practices after sitting out Week 8. We'll check their statuses Sunday.

Rams LB Ernest Jones (illness), CB Jalen Ramsey (knee) and OLB Von Miller (ankle) are questionable for Sunday night's game against the Titans. HC Sean McVay said Friday that he expects Jones and Ramsey to play, according to the team's website. Miller, on the other hand, will be a game-time decision. The Sunday night kickoff means most IDP lineups can't wait for that decision.

Saints S Malcolm Jenkins is questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. He missed Wednesday's practice with his knee injury but returned for limited workouts the past 2 days. We'll check his status Sunday.

Dolphins LB Jerome Baker is questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans. He's dealing with the same knee injury that knocked him out of Week 7 early and then kept him out of last week's game against the Bills. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

Rams DT Sebastian Joseph-Day aggravated his chest injury in Thursday's practice and will need surgery. He's out indefinitely. "Whether or not that means he'll return at any point this season, I think we'll have to see after the surgery," HC Sean McVay said, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Greg Gaines started in Joseph-Day's place in Week 8 and looks like the NT going forward.

The Texans have ruled LB Christian Kirksey out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins with his fractured thumb. It's a little surprising after Kirksey played through the injury last week (after it occurred at the end of the Week 7 game). It's tough to know what the LB playing time will look like with Kirksey out. According to the Houston Chronicle, Neville Hewitt "was prepared to play in place of Kirksey last week," when Kirksey played with a "club" on his injured hand. So it appears Hewitt -- rather than Zach Cunningham -- will be the 2nd LB alongside Kamu Grugier-Hill.

Cardinals WR A.J. Green remains on the COVID list as of Friday night and is not expected to be cleared for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers. WR DeAndre Hopkins is a game-time decision with his hamstring injury, leaving Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella as Arizona's healthy WRs.

Cowboys WRs CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Amari Cooper (hamstring) are listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Broncos. Lamb hurt his ankle in Wednesday’s practice, was sidelined on Thursday and returned to a limited practice on Friday. Cooper put in 3 limited practices this week. Both guys are expected to play on Sunday. We’ll let you know if that changes.

Broncos TE Albert Okwuegbunam (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. We haven't heard any concern about his status, but you'll need to make sure he's active on Sunday if you're planning on using him in Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Rams WR Robert Woods (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 9. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, but HC Sean McVay said that Woods will play against Tennessee on Sunday night. You can keep him penciled into fantasy lineups unless we hear otherwise.

Rams RB Matt Stafford (back) is not listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, but HC Sean McVay said all week that Stafford would be fine for Sunday night’s game vs. the Titans. He’s safe to use in fantasy lineups.
