Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals RB James Conner (heel) is active for today’s game vs. the Seahawks. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so it’s unclear how close to 100% he is for this one. But Conner averaged 17.0 carries and 5.2 targets in 5 games without RB Chase Edmonds earlier this season, so the ceiling is lofty.

Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is out for the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Lions with a back injury. Green Bay also pulled QB Aaron Rodgers, WR Davante Adams and WR Allen Lazard at halftime, so it's unclear how serious Valdes-Scantling's injury is. He'll get a 1st-round bye to heal up before the Divisional Round.

Steelers RB Najee Harris hurt his elbow on the 1st series of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. The team is calling him "probable" to return, but Harris has remained on the sideline. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Harris returned midway through the 3rd quarter.

The Raiders expect TE Darren Waller (knee) to play in tonight's game against the Chargers, ESPN reports. He's officially questionable but should be available for fantasy football lineups.

Browns S Ronnie Harrison (ankle) and CB Troy Hill (knee) are inactive for today's game against the Bengals. S John Johnson III (hamstring), CB Denzel Ward (groin) and CB Greedy Williams (shoulder) are active.

Bengals DE Sam Hubbard (thigh) is active for today's game against the Browns. We'll see how much he actually plays, though, in a game Cincinnati clearly is not trying to win. Hubbard might be active because the team is missing so many other D-linemen. Trey Hendrickson, Larry Ogunjobi and B.J. Hill all remain on the COVID list, and D.J. Reader is inactive. LB Logan Wilson is also inactive.

11:41am EST 1/9/22

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bengals. RB D’Ernest Johnson came off the COVID list earlier this week and will be the #2 RB behind Nick Chubb today.

11:40am EST 1/9/22

Browns TE David Njoku (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He’ll continue sharing time with TEs Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant.

Lions LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin (shoulder) and DL Michael Brockers (neck) are active for today's game against the Packers. Each guy entered the day questionable.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow, WR Tee Higgins and K Evan McPherson are inactive for today’s game vs. the Browns.WR Ja’Marr Chase is active but might play just long enough to get the 12 yards he needs to set Cincinnati’s single-season franchise record.TE C.J. Uzomah (knee, hip) is surprisingly active after missing practice all week.

Bears edge Robert Quinn (shoulder) is active for today's game against the Vikings. Use him as planned in IDP leagues.

Packers LB De'Vondre Campbell is inactive for today's game against the Lions. It's not surprising after Campbell carried a questionable tag into a game that's meaningless or Green Bay. Expect Krys Barnes and Oren Burks to work as the top 2 non-edge LBs against Detroit.

11:33am EST 1/9/22

Lions QB Jared Goff (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Packers. That’s good news for WR Amon-Ra St. Brown and RB D’Andre Swift.

Colts DT DeForest Buckner is active for today's game against the Jaguars. He arrived questionable and is likely well short of 100% after missing the entire week of practice with a nagging knee injury. He'll be risky but also carry upside as an IDP option.

11:31am EST 1/9/22

Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Lions. He’d likely be playing if this game meant anything to Green Bay and should be back for the playoffs. All of the Packers’ other regulars on offense are active, although it’s unclear how much guys like Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will play.

The Buccaneers expect to get RB Leonard Fournette back for the start of the playoffs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Fournette has been out since Dec. 19 with a hamstring injury but reportedly did some running with trainers during this practice week. Tampa also reportedly expects to have LB Lavonte David (foot) ready for the playoffs.

The Broncos fired HC Vic Fangio. He won just 7, 5 and 7 games across 3 seasons with Denver. No word yet on OC Pat Shurmur, but we imagine he'll also be gone. We'll see who GM George Paton tabs as his new HC.

Update: The Broncos have also fired OC Pat Shurmur, according to insider Mike Klis.

Rams RB Cam Akers is expected to have a "limited role" vs. the 49ers today in his 1st game since tearing his Achilles this summer, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter adds that Akers will have "an increased role" in the playoffs. We'll see how Akers looks today and what that means for his postseason volume. But he's not a viable Week 18 fantasy option. RB Sony Michel remains a strong play.

Browns RB D'Ernest Johnson has been activated from the COVID list and is eligible to play vs. the Bengals on Sunday. We'll see if RB Kareem Hunt, who's questionable with his ankle injury, ends up playing.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams hurt a big toe on the final play of the 1st half of Saturday's game vs. the Broncos. He didn't record a touch in the 2nd half. We'll keep an eye on Williams -- and RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire -- this coming week. The Chiefs will host a Wild Card game unless the Titans lose to the Texans on Sunday.
