Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden is "optimistic" that DE Yannick Ngakoue will be able to play against the Steelers today. Ngakoue is questionable with a hamstring injury that knocked him out of Week 1 early and limited his practice participation all week. The fact that he was able to participate each day is encouraging, but there's obviously at least some risk of re-injury here. Ngakoue is in play for IDP lineups, but keep the risk in mind as you're making your decisions. He has settled into low DL3 territory in our Week 2 DL rankings.

The 49ers are "optimistic" that DE Arik Armstead (adductor) and DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) will be active for today's game against the Eagles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Both are officially questionable, so we'll have to check their statuses later this morning. Each is just a lower-level IDP prospect, but their presence would obviously help the San Francisco defense. That said, we'd rather not use the unit either way against a Philly offense with plenty of scoring potential.

The Jets expect to have WR Jamison Crowder active for today's game against the Patriots, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Crowder is officially questionable with a groin injury. We'd try not to use him in fantasy lineups, at least until seeing where Crowder now falls in the Jets' target pecking order.

ESNP's Adam Schefter reports that Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) will "probably" make his season debut against the Jaguars today. Chubb is officially questionable with what has been a lingering issue since offseason surgery. We'd try to wait at least a game before popping him into IDP lineups. It's tough to know how big a role Chubb will play right away. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says it's a "game-time decision."

Lions RB D'Andre Swift is questionable for Monday night's game against the Packers. He's still dealing with the groin issue that limited his practice time in training camp. Swift put in a full practice Saturday, though, after being limited the previous 2 days. RBs coach Duce Staley said Friday that the injury carries "no concern" going forward, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. We'll go ahead and assume Swift plays, and we'll update his status Monday.

Lions DE Trey Flowers is questionable for Monday night's game against the Packers. He's dealing with a shoulder issue that limited him in practice all week. We'll update his status Monday evening, but Flowers isn't worth waiting for unless you need to. Lions DL Michael Brockers (shoulder) is also questionable for the game.

Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Packers. That leaves Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson as Detroit's WRs. TE T.J. Hockenson and RBs D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams are good bets to again finish as the team's top 3 target-getters.

Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey (back) is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Chiefs with a back issue. Humphrey was limited all 3 days this week. The late kickoff makes him tough to wait for in IDP leagues, and it's a low-floor matchup for his fantasy scoring. We'd try to lean toward another option.

Seahawks CB D.J. Reed is questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans. He left Friday's practice early with a foot injury. We'll see about his status come Sunday afternoon.

Titans LB Jayon Brown (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game at Seattle. He missed practice Friday with a hamstring injury that didn't affect his participation either of the previous 2 days. That progression doesn't seem to bode well for Brown's game status. OLB Bud Dupree is also questionable with a knee issue. We wouldn't be using him in IDP lineups even if he's active.

Chargers CB Chris Harris Jr. is out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys with a shoulder injury. That leaves L.A. without its top cover man and primary slot corner. Dallas WR Cedrick Wilson likely stands to benefit the most. With Michael Gallup out, Wilson will serve as the #3 wideout and played 85% of his pass snaps in the slot in Week 1.

Cowboys S Donovan Wilson is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers with a groin injury. It's an aggravation of an issue that dogged him through most of August. The fact that he logged no practice time despite the long week following a Week 1 Thursday night contest doesn't seem to bode well. S Damonte Kazee is also questionable after sustaining with a thigh injury Thursday. He finished the week with a limited Friday practice. We'll check the status on both players Sunday afternoon.

Buccaneers CB Carlton Davis is questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons with a hamstring injury. The team added him to the injury report Friday, when he was limited. So it's a new issue. We'll check Davis' status Sunday morning. The Bucs are already down starting CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow; IR).

Vikings LB Eric Kendricks is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He's dealing with a quad issue that kept him out of Thursday's practice, but Kendricks returned to full participation Friday. We'll see about his status Sunday morning. Otherwise, the Vikings ruled out DE Everson Griffen (concussion) and OLB Anthony Barr (knee). Barr's absence means another start for Nick Vigil, who returned to a full practice Friday and is good to go after a limited start to the week.

Steelers LB Devin Bush popped up on the Friday injury report with a groin issue that limited his participation and rendered him questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders. We'll check Bush's status Sunday morning, but the injury could make him a risky IDP starter even if he's active.

Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. He left Week 1 early with the injury but managed limited practices all week. We'll check his status Sunday morning. DE Carl Nassib (pectoral, toe) is also questionable. He missed practice Wednesday before putting in limited Thursday and Friday workouts. The pair make up 2 of Las Vegas' top 3 at the position.

The Patriots have ruled OLB Kyle Van Noy out for Sunday's game against the Jets with a throat injury. We haven't seen any other details on his issue, so we'll see where this goes. Fortunately for fantasy players, Van Noy isn't a strong IDP option even when available.

Despite only putting in a single, limited practice Friday (ankle, illness), Colts LB Darius Leonard carries no game status on the final injury report of the week. So he appears good for his usual workload Sunday against the Rams.

Colts rookie DE Kwity Paye is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. He sandwiched a missed Thursday practice between 2 limited workouts. We'll see about his status Sunday morning but wouldn't plan to use him in IDP lineups.

Niners CB Emmanuel Moseley (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Eagles. He missed Week 1 and looks like he'll do the same thing. That leaves San Francisco without its top 2 corners, as Jason Verrett went down for the season in Week 1. DE Arik Armstead (adductor) and DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) are questionable. We'll see about their statuses Sunday morning.
