Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals RB James Conner rushed 25 times for 120 yards (4.8 per carry) in Sunday's narrow loss to the Chargers. He added 3 catches for 20 yards and a TD among 3 targets. Keaontay Ingram claimed the only 2 other RB carries, while Corey Clement drew the only other RB target. Conner now gets a Week 13 bye and then a tough trio of RB-scoring matchups.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler racked up 15 targets and 11 catches in Sunday's late win over the Cardinals, snagging a 1-yard TD with 15 seconds left that set up the game-winning 2-point conversion. Ekeler needed that receiving production to make up for a mere 5-20 rushing line. Joshua Kelley and Isaiah Spiller carried 2 times apiece and combined for 4 targets. It was Kelley's 1st game since a Week 6 knee injury landed him on IR. Kelley played 6 more snaps than Spiller but also less than one-third of Ekeler's total. Next comes a generous Raiders D.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert threw for 274 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Herbert hit WR Keenan Allen, WR DeAndre Carter and RB Austin Ekeler for TDs. The 1-yarder to Ekeler with 15 seconds left won the game. Ekeler (15) and Carter (10) combined for 53.2% of Herbert's pass attempts and 51.4% of his completions for the game. Carter caught 7 for 73 yards. WR Josh Palmer went 5-56 on 7 targets. Allen finished with 5 receptions for 49 yards. TE Gerald Everett added 4 catches for 18 yards on 4 targets. The Chargers get a soft Raiders defense in Week 13.

Eagles S C.J. Gardner-Johnson suffered a rib injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday night's game against the Packers and is questionable to return.

Seahawks QB Geno Smith went 27-of-37 passing in Sunday's OT loss to the Raiders, compiling a season-high 328 yards and 2 TDs. Smith also threw an INT and lost a fumble. He targeted WR D.K. Metcalf with 40.5% of his attempts (15), completing 11 for 90 yards. No other Seahawk caught more than 3 passes. Tyler Lockett hauled in 3 of 7 targets for 68 yards and a TD. RB Travis Homer caught the other score. It was Smith's 3rd game this season with 300+ yards. he added 22 rushing yards on 5 attempts.

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III ran for a pair of TDs in Sunday's OT loss to the Raiders. That covered up a meager 26 yards on 14 carries (1.9 per rush). It was the 2nd straight game in which Walker averaged less than 2 yards per carry and 3rd time in 4 games that he averaged less than 3 yards per rush. That doesn't bode well heading into a Week 13 matchup with a Rams defense that has played the run tougher than either of Seattle's past 2 opponents.

Raiders QB Derek Carr amassed 295 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's OT win at Seattle. He hit WR Mack Hollins (4-63 receiving), RB Ameer Abdullah (3-39) and TE Foster Moreau (3-33) for TDs. Carr also tossed a pair of INTs, but he has posted his 2 best fantasy scores of the season in his past 2 games.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs entered Sunday questionable with a calf issue that arose in Friday's practice. He finished the day with a 33-229-2 rushing line and 6-74 receiving in a 40-34 win over the Seahawks. Jacobs finished off an already strong outing with an 86-yard TD dash in OT. Jacobs set season highs in both rushing yards and receiving yards and topped 20 carries for the 3rd straight game. He's a weekly must start the rest of the way.

Bears WR Darnell Mooney "likely" needs season-ending surgery to repair torn ligaments in his ankle, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. If that's the case, Chicago will be without the guy who drew 26.6% of the team's targets over the first 10 games of the season. It'd open up opportunity for WR Chase Claypool and TE Cole Kmet. But this will remain a low-volume passing game, so it's tough to get excited about any of the pass catchers. Even Mooney sat just 45th among WRs in PPR points through Week 11.

Packers DB Darnell Savage left in the 1st quarter of Sunday night's game against the Eagles with a foot injury and is questionable to return. We'll watch for updates.

Falcons rookie WR Drake London checked in just 3rd on the team in targets and caught 2 passes for 29 yards in the 1st game since TE Kyle Pitts landed on IR. London did lead Atlanta in routes, running on all but 1 of QB Marcus Mariota's 26 dropbacks. But his 4 targets trailed WR Olamide Zaccheaus (8) and RB Cordarrelle Patterson (5). London scored in consecutive games before Sunday's dud but hasn't exceeded 40 receiving yards in a game since Week 3. He's tough to make a starting case for in most fantasy football formats.

The bad news for Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson was that he split carries evenly with Tyler Allgeier in Sunday's loss to the Commanders, trailing his rookie teammate 54-52 in yards. The good news: He saw a target increase in the 1st game since TE Kyle Pitts landed on IR. Patterson's 5 looks ranked 2nd on the team and tied a season high he set back in the opener. Patterson had totaled just 6 targets over his 6 appearances since then. Even better: Those 5 targets marked a 20% share of Atlanta's pass attempts. Patterson caught 3 balls for 19 yards against Washington. Continued target shares anywhere around there would make Patterson easier to start in fantasy football lineups going forward.

The Commanders threw for just 138 yards in Sunday's win over the Falcons, running 37 times vs. just 23 dropbacks. WR Terry McLaurin led the team in targets (6), catches (4) and receiving yards (48), while no teammate exceeded 24 yards. TE John Bates checked in next with 3 catches for 24 yards on 4 targets. He and RB Brian Robinson Jr. caught QB Taylor Heinicke's 2 TD throws. Logan Thomas continued to lead TEs in routes but trailed Bates by 1 target and logged just 1 catch for 7 yards. WRs Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel combined or 0 catches on 1 target.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell suffered a "possible" MCL sprain in Sunday's win over the Saints, HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward. Mitchell missed 8 weeks with a sprained MCL earlier this season, although Shanahan said this one isn't believed to be as serious. We should learn more about Mitchell's status on Monday.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson delivered his 1st career 100-yard game in Sunday's win over the Falcons, rushing for 105 on 18 carries. He added 2 catches for 20 yards, including a 14-yard TD. Robinson reclaimed the rushing lead from Antonio Gibson after trailing his teammate there in Week 11. Robinson still ran half has many pass routes as Gibson, according to Pro Football Focus, and beat him by just 4 total snaps. We'd credit the production -- at least in large part -- to the matchup. Sunday marked the 1st time this season that Robinson averaged more than 3.8 yards per carry. And his 2nd-best mark in that category came last week against Houston. Robinson's 3rd straight game of 15+ carries does at least make him a potential volume play in Week 13 against the Giants. We'll see how he fares there before a Week 15 rematch with the Giants (after Washington's bye). Gibson totaled just 9 carries for 32 yards and 3 catches for 22 against Atlanta.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said after Sunday's win over the Bears that RB Michael Carter has a sprained ankle but that the severity isn't yet known. We should have a better idea of Carter's status by the end of Monday.

Rams WR Allen Robinson will undergo season-ending foot surgery, HC Sean McVay said after Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that it's a stress fracture. So that ends a wildly disappointing 2022 season for Robinson that saw him average just 3.3 catches and 34 yards per game. Through Week 10, he ranked 79th among 85 qualifying WRs in yards per route run. We're not optimistic about Robinson's odds of bouncing back next season.

Jaguars RB Travis Etienne was asked about his foot injury after Sunday's win over the Ravens and said, "we'll be straight for next week," according to insider John Shipley. Players, of course, tend to be optimistic about their injuries, so don't go locking Etienne into Week 13 fantasy lineups just yet. But it does sound like he avoided a significant injury. We should get another update on his status on Monday.

Titans WR Treylon Burks caught 4 of 6 targets for 70 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. Most of that yardage came on a 51-yard contested catch in the 3rd quarter. His biggest play, however, came early in the 2nd quarter. That's when the rookie recovered a Derrick Henry fumble in the end zone for the team's only TD. WRs Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine matched Burks for the team target lead. Westbrook-Ikhine caught 4 for 58 yards. Woods managed only 2 receptions for 16 yards.

Titans RB Derrick Henry mustered only 38 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, his 3rd straight outing with 3.1 yards per carry or less. Henry nearly saved his fantasy line with a 69-yard catch and run early in the 2nd quarter, but he got stripped short of the goal line. WR Treylon Burks recovered that ball for the TD. Henry's 3 receptions for the game totaled 79 yards, getting him to a nice 117 total yards. We'll see whether Henry's rushing can rebound in Week 13 against a Philly defense that has been generous on the ground.
