Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bears S Eddie Jackson suffered a "significant" Lisfranc injury to his left foot in Sunday's loss to the Jets, NFL Network reports. Jackson is reportedly still getting medical opinions but is expected to be out "indefinitely." It's OK to go ahead and drop Jackson in redraft IDP leagues.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is not expected to practice much, if at all, this week with his calf strain, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "He’ll get around-the-clock treatment in hopes of playing Sunday against the Chargers," Pelissero adds. It's a surprising report after Jacobs blew up for 303 total yards and 2 TDs vs. the Seahawks last week -- after hurting that calf on Friday. We'll keep you updated on his status throughout the week. If Jacobs can't go on Sunday, Vegas would likely deploy a committee with RBs Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur didn't have an update on QB Aaron Rodgers' injury during his Monday press conference but did say that Rodgers was "feeling better" than he did on Sunday night. "I think we’ll know more in the next couple days," LaFleur added. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Rodgers will start vs. the Bears this weekend if he's able.

Steelers RB Najee Harris left Monday's game against the Colts with an abdominal injury. He was ruled out at halftime. In his place, Pittsburgh will roll with Anthony McFarland and Benny Snell. We'll see if Harris is able to suit up for a Week 13 date with Atlanta.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson went off for 5 grabs, 95 yards and 2 scores against Chicago in Week 12. Wilson immediately came to life with a pair of 1st-half TDs from QB Mike White, who made his first start of 2022. The rookie’s 8 targets easily led all pass catchers and made up a 28.5% team share. We’ve seen this type of upside before, as Wilson entered with 3 games of 90+ yards. With White sticking as the starer, Wilson will profile as a useable WR3/FLEX against Minnesota in Week 13.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is "trending in the right direction" for Week 13. HC Zac Taylor said Monday that Mixon remains in the concussion protocol, but fantasy owners can tentatively expect him to be cleared in time to play vs. the Chiefs on Sunday. We'll keep you updated on his progress throughout the week.

Bears HC Matt Eberflus confirmed on Monday that WR Darnell Mooney will miss the rest of the 2022 season with the left ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Jets. We'll look for further details on Mooney's timetable to return, but he should at least be ready for 2023 training camp. Mooney finishes his 3rd NFL season with a 40-493-2 line on 61 targets. He's stretched as a #1 WR but can certainly be a quality #2 for the rebuilding Bears.

Jets RB Michael Carter has been diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain, HC Robert Saleh said Monday. It's not considered a long-term injury, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. Carter's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Vikings is uncertain, though. We'll monitor his status throughout the week.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan on Monday labeled RB Christian McCaffrey "day to day" with "knee irritation" and said that CMC will be managed during the week. It's unclear if McCaffrey's snaps and touches will need to be "managed" on game day. His 63% snap rate in Sunday's win over the Saints was his lowest since his 49ers debut in Week 7. And after tallying 27 and 20 opportunities (carries + targets) in Weeks 8 and 10, McCaffrey has gone for 14 and 17 the past 2 games. We'll keep a close eye on this knee situation going forward.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Patriots RB Damien Harris isn't expected to play Thursday night against the Bills because of the thigh injury that knocked him out of the Thanksgiving night game. His absence would make Rhamondre Stevenson the clear backfield leader. Rookies Pierre Strong and Kevin Harris are the only other RBs on the active roster, with J.J. Taylor a candidate for elevation from the practice squad.

Colts TE Kylen Granson (illness) is inactive for tonight's game against the Steelers. That leaves a little more room for TEs Mo Alie-Cox and Jelani Woods to potentially factor into DFS showdown lineups.

Colts DT DeForest Buckner (ribs, illness) and EDGE Yannick Ngakoue (back) is active for tonight's game against the Steelers. EDGE Kwity Paye (ankle) is inactive.

The Chiefs are signing WR Bryan Edwards to their practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Edwards tallied just 3 catches and 15 yards among 5 targets before getting dumped by the Falcons after a Week 10 loss to the Panthers.

The Chiefs are signing RB Melvin Gordon to their practice squad, according to multiple reports. We'll see whether the veteran -- waived recently by the Broncos -- can work his way into what's been a just-OK backfield this season.

Rams DL Aaron Donald suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. HC Sean McVay said Monday that his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks is "TBD," according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Losing Donald would obviously significantly impact the L.A. defense. We'll watch his status this week.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday that RB Elijah Mitchell did suffer an MCL sprain Sunday against the Saints. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks. When Mitchell suffered the same injury to his other knee back in Week 1, he remained out until Week 10. Expect this injury to knock Mitchell out for at least the rest of the regular season. We'll see about the playoffs (for him and the 49ers).

Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) will practice "in some degree" this week, HC John Harbaugh said Monday. Dobbins has been sidelined since Week 6 and underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in late October. It doesn't necessarily sound like he'll be ready to play vs. the Broncos on Sunday, but we'll keep an eye on his status throughout the week.

Texans RB Rex Burkhead is in the concussion protocol, HC Lovie Smith said Monday. Burkhead has totaled just 2 carries and 7 targets on 59 snaps over his last 5 games, so there will be very little fantasy impact if he's unable to play vs. the Browns this weekend.

Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson found the end zone in a Week 12 win over Houston. He underwhelmed with only 52 total yards against the Texans’ league-worst run defense. Still, the result — which came with Raheem Mostert sidelined — was just fine for fantasy managers. Wilson did depart this game with what was believed to be cramping, but he later returned. Week 13 turns up a meeting with his former team, the 49ers. We tentatively expect Mostert to make it back for that one, but Wilson should remain the backfield leader.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill finished Week 12 with 6 grabs for 85 yards. Jaylen Waddle led the team in targets, but the margin was slim (10 vs. 9 for Hill). Both guys took advantage of a Texans secondary minus top CB Derek Stingley. Hill did miss some time with cramping, but fantasy owners should be pleased with the result nevertheless. He’s now up to 87-1,233-4 in 11 games. Next up is a road matchup at San Francisco.
